Day 5

Weekly Truth

from the Lent 2016 reading plan

Acts 3:19

BY She Reads Truth

Text: Acts 3:19

We believe memorizing Scripture is one of the best ways to carry God-breathed truth, instruction, and reproof wherever we go. Let’s memorize Acts 3:19 together this week.

Therefore repent and turn back, so that your sins may be wiped out, that seasons of refreshing may come from the presence of the Lord…
-Acts 3:19 HCSB

  2. J says:

Christ suffered. Now, all we have to do is repent and turn back. Returning to God with a humble, broken heart. He faithfully meets us where we are over and over again. He continuously erases our sins and gives us, the undeserving a fresh canvas. We can rest in his grace everyday and be refreshed by his presence. The death of Christ acted as a bridge between us and God. We find new and old ways to tarnish our fresh starts everyday but nothing can separate us from the everlasting Father. We are free to come to him with only the sacrifice of a broken heart!

This is beautiful thank you! I confess it is much easier for me to memorize song lyrics than scripture, my mind has become lazy and I have justified not making the effort to memorize because “I’m not good at it”. Forgive me Lord for not making your Words a delight to my eyes!

    1. Marriah says:

St. Augustine said “he who sings, prays twice”, so its not lazy at all! Put it to a song, and pray twice in doing so :)
