Day 7

Weekly Truth

from the Acts reading plan

Acts 2:37-41

BY She Reads Truth

Scripture is God-breathed and true. When we memorize it, we carry the good news of Jesus with us wherever we go.

As we read Acts together, we will memorize a portion of Peter’s sermon in Acts 2:37–41, given at Pentecost after Jesus’s ascension. The apostle calls his audience to repent, promising the gift of the Holy Spirit to all who turn to Jesus.

This week, let’s begin our memorization with the first verse. To help you memorize, write the verse on a note card, then underline the verbs and emphasize them as you say the first verse out loud.

37 When they heard this, they were pierced to the heart and said to Peter and the rest of the apostles, “Brothers, what should we do?” 38 Peter replied, “Repent and be baptized, each of you, in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins, and you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit. 39 For the promise is for you and for your children, and for all who are far off, as many as the Lord our God will call.” 40 With many other words he testified and strongly urged them, saying, “Be saved from this corrupt generation!” 41 So those who accepted his message were baptized, and that day about three thousand people were added to them.

Julia, I’ve prayed to see others like God does too. Joining you in that prayer. Jill K. I’ve been praying something like you have. I’m praying God would have mercy and draw the lost. That they would be rescued fro the darkness and delivered. I pray that they would be Jesus’s and never snatched away. So many are lost. I pray that they would be drawn, repent, and be saved by any means necessary. Amen!
I wanted to let you know my dad is home! He was touched by your comments and prayers and said thank you. My mom said thank you too.
How beautiful and wonderful you all are. Thank you all so much for taking time to pray and write! Im so grateful for all of you for standing in the gap and praying.I don’t know if this would have happened without all of the prayers. God bless each of you. My mother in law said the last part of this Scripture to me when we found out he was at the hospital about the prayers of the righteous. I’m thankful that prayers were heard. Praying that he will also be saved! “Confess your faults one to another, and pray one for another, that ye may be healed. The effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man availeth much.”‭‭James‬ ‭5:16‬ ‭KJV‬‬1d God bless you all! I am going to pray for you all too after I post this!
