Day 7

Weekly Truth

from the Joshua reading plan

Joshua 1:9

BY She Reads Truth

During this reading plan, we will memorize Joshua 1:9. This week, focus on memorizing just the first part. Try saying it aloud three times, writing it down three times, and repeating the pattern to help you remember.

“Haven’t I commanded you: be strong and courageous?
Do not be afraid or discouraged,
for the LORD your God is with you wherever you go.”
—Joshua 1:9

This verse is especially relevant to me after the week we’ve had here in Texas. I’ve seen God work in my life I’m so many ways showing He was with me and helping me resolve issues and giving me peace.

Be strong and courageous, don’t be afraid or discouraged for the Lord your God is with you…..for the last 2 years I’ve been weak, afraid and discouraged – God used this verse and this week’s reading to bring me back to life. All I need to do is be strong, courageous and not be afraid for He is with me – it isn’t my shade vs your sideI have to make a choice to be on God’s side and things will start to fall into place.

This verse couldn’t have come at a better time! My family just purchased a house in another state and will be moving in 2 months… Both my husband and I have lived in our hometown all our lives, so this is a HUGE transition. But this was so comforting to read, knowing that He will be with us every step of the way.

It’s daunting to hear someone say to me “Be strong and courageous!” First of all, it indicates I’m in a situation requiring both of those. I can think of a million reasons to answer them with “But you don’t know…”

It’s a whole other thing when it’s the Lord speaking that phrase. He backs up His command to be strong and courageous with His very presence. I’m not going it alone. That’s wherein, Who in, I get my confidence to face my giants.
