Day 21

Weekly Truth

from the Ecclesiastes reading plan

Ecclesiastes 12:13

BY She Reads Truth

Scripture is God-breathed and true. When we memorize it, we carry the good news of Jesus with us wherever we go.

This week we will memorize the key verse for Ecclesiastes.

When all has been heard, the conclusion of the matter is this: fear God and keep his commands, because this is for all humanity.
—Ecclesiastes 12:13

Mari V we used to live in Aptos. Oh how I miss it! I’m praying you all stay safe.

  2. Rebekah C says:

Love God and love your neighbor as yourself!

Do those and you fulfill the law and the prophets.

    What is love?

1 Corinthians 13 has the definition

  3. Angie says:

CeeGee – thank you for your kind words on Friday (I think) when you were in a battle with your device – I smile as I type because…I’ve been there waaaaay toooo often!
Thank you to others also who prayed for God’s protection for me during my husband’s Covid. He answers the prayers of His children. Thank you sisters.

Fear the Lord and keep his commands…And what a good Lord and Savior we have who has fulfilled the Law of God for us! Only by abiding in Jesus can we keep the commands of our God. What a glorious promise and hope!

JENNIFER WING and JENNIFER O, thank you for sharing your common journey with chronic illness. May the Lord grant us endurance and hope as we continue to rely upon his sufficient grace in the midst of our weakness. And I pray for your healing (and others here with chronic illness). Whether it comes today or on the day of resurrection, I know we have a great promise that it WILL happen! Blessings to you!

I wasn’t going to post this, but I felt that I should. Yet another deputy officer lost his life yesterday. Sgt Damon Gutzwiller. I do not know him as I am not from that area. I had taken my children to the Santa Cruz Beach area for a fun day. We were on our way home when I saw (and I am not exaggerating) about a dozen + police cars heading the opposite direction on the freeway. My kids and I began to pray. My son looked it up on Twitter and read that there was an officer down. Even though I don’t even know him or his family my heart aches. I read that he was a great person, he was described as “a beloved figure“.

      Thank You for sharing

Anna thank you for seeking to understand. I do not condone the looting and violence but as a black person I understand it. The murder of George Floyd is just one of the numerous cases where a black person has been murdered and time and time again the murderer is not held accountable. In this current age we have phones that can video events. So what you have is people who then feel no one is here to protect me, I’ll take matters into my own hands. There’s a lifetime of things I could say but I’ll end with Solomon’s admonishing us to Fear God and keep his commandments.

  7. Elisha Anne says:

May we fear God above all. “The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom” ♥️

  8. Anna says:

My heart aches for the Black men and women in the world today. They have been regarded as property, seen as less than, stereotyped and stolen from for generations, and white people (like me) who have benefitted from this injustice are just starting to notice.

I am angry for my friend, who has been told “you’re the whitest Black person I know” as if it were a compliment. I am angry for my roommate, who has so often been put into the position of having to speak for all Black people because our peers and professors think it’s enough to hear the perspective of their “one Black friend.” I am terrified for my boyfriend, who cannot walk alone at night in our suburban neighborhood because police will see him as a threat.

I am so frustrated at the many people I see focusing more on scrutinizing the way Black people protest than empathizing with why they have to.

God, You are the God of justice. You see your children being strangled, shot, judged, and crying out. Please give me the wisdom and open my heart so that I may be a tool for your justice and healing this side of heaven. Please give me empathy and humility to acknowledge my privilege and use it to uplift the voices of those who have not been heard on their own. Please give me courage to hold my white friends and family accountable in a way that is pleasing to You. Most importantly, please fill the hearts of those hurting due to racial injustice with Your peace. In your name, Amen.

    1. Jennifer Martin says:

      Amen!

    2. K L says:

      Amen!!
