Day 14

Weekly Truth

from the Promises of God reading plan

Ephesians 1:7

BY She Reads Truth

Scripture is God-breathed and true. When we memorize it, we carry the gospel with us wherever we go.

This week we will memorize a verse from Ephesians, a promise of the redemption we have in Jesus.

In him we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of our trespasses, according to the riches of his grace…
—Ephesians 1:7

We love because He first loved us-thank you that because of God’s great love of us, we are empowered to love others, especially our sometimes imperfect , unlovable children &/or mothers. He is the source of our great love. Mother’s Day blessings to you all, sweet sisters!

Continuation into Ephesian 1:8: “…that he LAVISHED on us.” So thankful for this redemption in Christ! There is no other way!
I saw this on Facebook and I wanted to share:
Happy Mother’s Day to all the moms out there including mothers who have lost children, those who have lost their own mothers, those who have strained relationships with their mothers, mothers with strained relationships with their children, those who have chosen not to be mothers, and those yearning to be mothers <3 You are all included, seen, and loved today!

As a little girl I did not like hearing or thinking about the blood of Jesus. It seemed creepy when folks spoke about being “covered by the blood.” It brought to mind the image from the movie “Carrie” and that is something I never wanted to have happen to me. Thankfully my understanding grew as I aged. While the image of Jesus dying on the cross remains a graphic one, I know I am the beneficiary of His sacrifice. All who believe are. Now I see the blood of Jesus for what it truly is: an undeserved gift providing an inheritance of unbelievable proportion, here on earth as well as in heaven. It is a gift I want all to accept. There is nothing creepy about it. It is glorious!

When I read this line of the verse, what came to mind was a picture of the first Passover, and the instructions to kill and put the blood of an unblemished lamb or goat on their (the Israelites) doorposts above the door.. and the words that came with that image was.. ‘this is for everyday, Jesus’ blood covers you everyday, every moment, every second…’

    Selah.

There’s a revelation right there.. Thank you God. Thank you Jesus. Thank you..

Happy Mothering Sunday Sisters, Be absolutely Blessed today.❤

As I prayed over yesterdays grace day verse – “But the Counselor, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in my name, will teach you all things and remind you of everything I have told you.” – John 14:26 I began to weep in sorrow, because I put God in a position to remind me of His teachings daily. That repetition must be exhausting. Right now I feel like Im in a battle with my kids to listen and stay on top of their responsibilities. Then there is their dad who is unreliable. BUT then today with the weekly truth we are redeemed!! We are forgiven for our sins!! I am shown grace <3

I wept for the sheer joy of knowing that the Holy Spirit will remind me when I feel I cannot. Thanks for sharing!
