Weekly Truth

Open Your Bible

2 Corinthians 1:20

Scripture is God-breathed and true. When we memorize it, we carry the gospel with us wherever we go.

This week we will memorize the key verse for this reading plan, a reminder that all of God’s promises are true in Christ.

For no matter how many promises God has made, they are “Yes” in Christ. And so through him the “Amen” is spoken by us to the glory of God.
—2 Corinthians 1:20 NIV

This study has reminded me of the worship song “Yes and Amen”. The chorus has been playing in my mind over the last week:

    Faithful, You are
    Faithful, forever, You will be
    Faithful, You are
All Your promises are Yes and Amen

  12. Haley Watson says:

It’s amazing how Jesus fulfills the law through a new covenant with us. Fulfills old promises, yet widens and deepens them. He doesn’t start over. He makes the old new again, and it’s so much richer and more beautiful for having that history. Looking ahead, he will do the same with this earth and with each of us!

Tina, thank you for your words of hope and encouragement. I know this in my mind it’s just heart just aches but my faith in God and Christ will never falter. I also think with this time of isolation it is harder because my sister and I can’t comfort each other and we can’t have a celebration of life for her.
Oh WOW. I want the “yes” and “Amen” in this scripture. The promises in Christ and the eteernal life spoke of by Christ. Amen.
