Day 7

Weekly Truth

from the Galatians reading plan

Galatians 2:21

BY She Reads Truth

Scripture is God-breathed and true. When we memorize it, we carry the gospel with us wherever we go.

This week we will memorize the key verse for Galatians.

I do not set aside the grace of God; for if righteousness comes through the law, then Christ died for nothing.
—Galatians 2:21

This is amazing! I keep putting my own salvation and faith journey into my hands. When I don’t read the Word for an hour I’m upset. But why?? Especially when it’s not my job to drive my pace but His!! I’m so thankful for this plan!!

Emily C., you and your husband are in my thoughts and prayers. I hate that there was a lie, yet I can’t help but thank God that it no longer has power. The truth has come out, the slate in clean. What an opportunity you have to go from this point. I think of how even God’s man, Abraham lied about Sarah being his wife/sister. I think of Peter’s lie 3 times that he didn’t know Jesus. If God can forgive these men and use them mightily in His kingdom…just think what a powerful love and life for Christ you two can have moving forward from here. May God’s healing and blessing be upon your union.

Also, teacher and school-working SRT friends…I have written down your names. May you be empowered by the Holy Spirit himself with wisdom and discernment for every day. May you have the courage and stamina to move forward in the spirit and grace of God. Shine your lights. Make a difference for the King of kings. Young or older students,…may they see Jesus when you look at them, may they sense his love in your actions and reactions, and may they feel a hunger for Jesus they see in you. Be blessed as you live out His love.

  3. Mari V says:

A constant reminder that we are saved by grace alone.

  4. Sue says:

How often do I put my salvation in my own efforts?

God, help me to rest in your grace.

  5. Churchmouse says:

“I do not treat the grace of God as meaningless. For if keeping the law could make us right with God, then there was no need for Christ to die.” (Galatians 2:21,NLT)

I cannot consistently keep a new year’s resolution, let alone would I ever be able to keep all the rules and regulations of the law of Moses. God knew the impossibility and so He gave us Jesus. His grace is great but it is not cheap. And I cheapen the gospel when I fall back into legalism. Let me fall into the embrace of grace and gratefully tell others so that they may also have the freedom that comes with Christ.
