Day 7

Weekly Truth

from the Zechariah and Malachi reading plan

Zechariah 2:10

BY She Reads Truth

Scripture is God-breathed and true. When we memorize it, we carry the gospel with us wherever we go.

Throughout the book of Zechariah, there is an emphasis on both the people returning to God and God returning to His people. This week, we will memorize a verse celebrating God’s presence among His people.

“Daughter Zion, shout for joy and be glad, for I am coming to dwell among you”—this is the LORD’s declaration.

    Churchmouse,

I loved that video. Beautiful. We are so blessed to be “grafted” in to God’s family.

If you have the opportunity today please look up this video on You Tube. It is the video of the song by Aaron Shust titled “Zion.”

A blessing. Thank you for the suggestion, Churchmouse.

  5. Churchmouse says:

Oh Israel, He came once and He is coming again. To you and for you, His chosen people. We who are grafted in are grateful and we pray for those who call Jerusalem their city, Israel their homeland. May you come to know the Messiah whose name is Jesus. Shout for joy and be glad!

In Zechariah’s day, the promise”I am coming to dwell among you” filled Gods people with hope. Imagine how those words must have hit their ears, bounced through their baffled minds and lodged in their desperate hearts. The Creator, King of Kings, Mighty God, their Yahweh was on His way to be among them! Their understanding must have circled their emotions from shock to honor to elation to trepidation to expectancy to disbelief and around again. How then do I process that this same God, Jesus, promised to dwell in us when we open our hearts to Him and believe in His name as the One who saves us from our sins? Let my baffled mind and my desperate heart make room for You, Lord, and give you complete reign over my life through your Holy Spirit who lives in me! My swirling emotions are the same as Zechariah’s audience as I contemplate this truth, but so is my God!
