Day 14

Weekly Truth

Psalm 63:1

BY She Reads Truth

Scripture is God-breathed and true. When we memorize it, we carry the gospel with us wherever we go.

This week we’ll memorize a verse we read together after Leah’s story on day 12. Written by David, Psalm 63:1 is an encouragement to us that we can cry out to God in every circumstance.

God, you are my God; I eagerly seek you.
I thirst for you;
my body faints for you
in a land that is dry, desolate, and without water.
—Psalm 63:1

Sarah, I’ll be praying for you! Just keep working as unto the Lord and not unto men, and He will bless you for that! I can already tell you this summer won’t be a waste because God is working all things for your good. In time, He’ll reveal what you’re supposed to be doing, just keep following Him even in the seemingly small things. ❤️

  2. Sarah D. says:

Oops meant to say God I “seek” you!

God I seem you with my whole being. I need you. Well, I’ve been in Hawaii a little over a month for the internship and it’s been both fun and challenging. Some of the people I work with are really difficult, and honestly make it miserable. It feels like one of the team leads is always looking for me to mess up, and always comments on how I am small and sometimes treats me like a child. Not fun. But slowly I’m learning to get the tasks done and not make as many mistakes. Prayers appreciated that I would do my best, and that this summer would not be a waste, that God would show me what he wants me to do with my major and as a career. I wish I knew what it was now …but I know that I just have to keep trusting him. Trust trust trust. Love you all, so thankful for SRT to keep me grounded in the word during this time!

Sarah! Buy that leader a coffee! Go beyond to show them kindness – that is something in the spirit, the enemy!
Show them kindness, ask them questions! Do not fear! God can turn anything round!

I was working on my recovery homework last night and read this question. Describe what a “quiet time“ means to you and why it’s important. I will share my answer with you.

Oh my goodness…… I love my quiet time. I crave it! I need it! It’s the most important part of my day! I have to start out with it. It’s been and is my lifeline. It starts my day with God Word in my heart and mind. It’s me and Jesus time.

  5. Ashley says:

God, you are my God; earnestly I seek you. In this age of uncertainty in the world. In the days where Your Word is mocked like a joke. Still, my soul thirsts for You, God.
Lately I’ve been feeling so defeated and these daily readings the past few days have been helping so much. The daily reminder that no matter what, God has a plan. I just have to trust in Him, whatever comes.

  6. Sue says:

    God you are my God.

You are my God when things are going great.
You are my God when things are “dry, desolate, and without water.”

May I eagerly seek you during every circumstance and in every situation.

  7. Karen says:

The NIV version of this verse says,

    “You, God, are my God,
    earnestly I seek you,
    I thirst for you,
my whole being longs for you,
in a dry and parched land
    where there is no water.”

God, may I seek you, thirst for you, and long for you in my every day living.
    Amen.

  8. Churchmouse says:

I seek You, Lord, in Your Word.
    I thirst for Your Word.
My body faints for You in this land, this culture, that is dry, desolate and dark.

BUT GOD, You are my God.

You have given me Your Word and it is life. I find You there.
    Your Word quenches my thirst.
Your Word brings light and hope.

You are my God. And I thank You.
