Day 21

Weekly Truth

from the 1 & 2 Corinthians reading plan

1 Corinthians 12:4

BY She Reads Truth

Scripture is God-breathed and true. When we memorize it, we carry the gospel with us wherever we go.

This week’s verse describes the unity we have in the Spirit.

Now there are different gifts, but the same Spirit.
—1 Corinthians 12:4

This is what the world needs to here. Right now. That we embrace those who are different, because they are different. They need to not come to a conclusion that we judge! We know who the Judge is, and we live for Him.

  2. Terri says:

Don’t understand why some gifts are not being used. Paul told us in the readings this week how important prophecy is. I am not seeing it. Maybe I am just in the wrong place. Has anyone heard the gift of prophecy in say the last month? Or year?

  3. J. Alison says:

Indeed! What a perfect choice to memorize.

  4. Lara Castillo says:

Thank you! No comparing. All for Him.

Needed this sweet reminder as I’m praying for my husband his morning before he leads our church in worship today. I often feel “less than” or left out because I’m not musically gifted the way that he is. I am reminded in this that the same Spirit dwells in both of us and uses us in different, but equally important, ways.

  6. Kelly Chataine says:

A gift that is a perfect fit for me. Now, I must, we all must go out and use our gifts.

Different gifts. Not better than. Different. Same Spirit. An equal opportunity giver.
I have a gift. You have a gift. Both invaluable to the all of us. Given graciously by One who knows what He’s doing.
Let’s use our gifts. For His glory. We can do this, Church!
