Day 7

Weekly Truth

from the Nehemiah reading plan

Nehemiah 2:17

BY She Reads Truth

Scripture is God-breathed and true. When we memorize it, we carry the gospel with us wherever we go.

This week we will memorize the key verse for the book of Nehemiah.

So I said to them, “You see the trouble we are in. Jerusalem lies in ruins and its gates have been burned. Come, let’s rebuild Jerusalem’s wall, so that we will no longer be a disgrace.”
—Nehemiah 2:17

As precious women have typed, I pray for us all to have our hearts, minds, and eyes open as Nehemiah’s had been. For he saw rubble and saw a direction for creation. For he saw potential instead of destruction. For he saw hope instead of distress. For he had hope and faith in our Father instead of focusing on how much people are against them.

My study Bible says, “Spiritual renewal often begins with one person’s vision. Nehemiah had a vision and he shared it with enthusiasm. Often God uses one person to express the vision and others to turn it into reality.” This is exactly what we are suppose to do as well, share our visions, encourage and inspire others so that in the action of teamwork we are accomplishing God’s goals. I have learned so much already from the first week of this study and looking forward to moving on in it.
