Weekly Truth

from the Matthew reading plan

Matthew 9:13

BY She Reads Truth

Scripture is God-breathed and true. When we memorize it, we carry the good news of the gospel of Jesus with us wherever we go.

This week we will memorize a verse from Matthew that powerfully summarizes what Jesus came to do, and why.

“Go and learn what this means: ‘I desire mercy and not sacrifice.’ For I didn’t come to call the righteous, but sinners.”
– Matthew 9:13

Mercy. It’s a powerful word. Loaded with meaning and feeling. I thank God for the Mercy he shows me and I pray I may have abundant mercy for others, especially those who hurt me.
