The Second Sunday of Advent
Open Your Bible
Luke 2:13-13
BY She Reads Truth
It is the wonder of angels that the love of Jesus should be set upon poor, lost, guilty humanity. Each believer must, when filled with a sense of Jesus’s love, also be overwhelmed with astonishment that such love should be lavished on an object so utterly unworthy of it.
–Charles H. Spurgeon
Suddenly there was a multitude of the heavenly host with the angel, praising God and saying:
Glory to God in the highest heaven,
and peace on earth to people he favors!
– Luke 2:13–14

We may be unworthy in our own eyes. It reminds me of David saying, “what is man that you are mindful of him?”. Yet, God sees us worthy of loving and saving!

Glory to God in the highest! And on earth, peace & goodwill towards men. Thank you Lord for your everlasting love despite our humanity. Lord, as we enter a new year, I pray that it will be the most powerful, impactful year yet. That we will be shining lights for You. Beacons of hope, for You. Let us enter this season with gratitude and utilize our many blessings to serve others. Thank you Lord for this beautiful life!

Such a beautiful story! Thank you, God, for being so much more than anything my mind can fully comprehend. Your ways and thoughts are eternally higher than mine.
