Day 22

The Fourth Sunday of Advent

from the Advent 2019: A Thrill of Hope reading plan

Matthew 2:10-11

BY She Reads Truth

Let us today go down to Bethlehem, and in company with wondering shepherds and adoring Magi, let us see him who was born King of the Jews, for we by faith can claim an interest in him, and can sing, “Unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given.” Jesus is Jehovah incarnate, our Lord and our God, and yet our brother and friend; let us adore and admire.
–Charles H. Spurgeon

When they saw the star, they were overwhelmed with joy. Entering the house, they saw the child with Mary his mother, and falling to their knees, they worshiped him. Then they opened their treasures and presented him with gifts: gold, frankincense, and myrrh.
–Matthew 2:10–11

Overwhelmed with joy…praying that for all of us this Christmas season!

As Peyton was saying, we should fall to our knees when we hear of His story and grace. She said that she may sometimes take this for granted. I just heard a good teaching that was saying when things are free, we don’t appreciate those things as much. (I’m paraphrasing.) However, he was saying nothing is really free. Jesus paid a huge price. What He endured is unfathomable. I picture Him seeing and feeling every sin ever committed. Think of how 1 sin we commit makes us feel or how we feel when someone hurts us through their sinful actions. He felt the full wrath of God for our sins! We will never know how much it cost Him as the song says. This podcast is encouraging if anyone want to listen: @First5App @Proverbs31org and how to the weekend teaching or. https://myf5.co/289276

We have already been given the only gift we will ever need! Let us continue to worship and praise Him all of our days.
