Day 13

Grace Day

from the James reading plan

Galatians 5:22-23

BY She Reads Truth

Take this day as an opportunity to catch up on your reading, pray, and rest in the presence of the Lord.

But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness,  gentleness, and self-control. The law is not against such things.
– Galatians 5:22-23

“But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faith, gentleness, self-control” (Galatians 5:22-23). All of this is a picture of God. This is what He is changing me into. When I am unkind, angry, contentious, forceful, doubting, or self-indulgent I am not reflecting Christ. This has to be a hourly or moment-to-moment surrender of my will to God because none of these things come naturally. Oh Father, help me be surrendering to you throughout every day.

  2. Maiya H says: funny is this, as I was just talking about my lack of patience….Lord. I love You and Your sense of humor. I love how You and I interact with each other.

I didn’t realize how hard it was to apply God’s word and will. It’s the small things that caught me. I’ve recently stated work in a restaurant. Tempers from overwhelmed severs, rude guests, and tension spreads in the air often. It’s made me want to cuss people out, I’ve been gossiping when someone does something outrageous or personally offending. Patience and a slow tongue is needed. I need constant prayer for a slow tongue and quicker smile. A patience hand. A loving spirit.

  4. Jennifer says:

I love You, Jesus. Help me to grow more like You. Amen.
