We give thanks to God for His cleansing gift of baptism through His Son.
Take this day as an opportunity to catch up on your reading, pray, and rest in the presence of the Lord. Pray this Scripture for a specific person in your life and for yourself:
As they were traveling down the road, they came to some water.
The eunuch said, “Look, there’s water! What would keep me from being baptized?”
And Philip said, “If you believe with all your heart you may.”
And he replied, “I believe that Jesus Christ is the Son of God.”

Today is called a “grace day” yet I’m struggling to find the grace.. we just got the news of a very close family friends little boy took his life… I believe Lord, help my unbelief..

I love how our salvation is made so simple, just believe! We complicate it by works and our own feelings that we do not deserve his grace. I believe it is the moment when your heart opens, acknowledges and lets Jesus in, not the symbolic act of baptism, that saves us. Sharing this through Baptism makes others aware of your walk so they can share in your joy and support you in it.

You have been baptized. Each of our journeys takes a circuitous route through deserts, mountains, valleys and pastures to grow us more into the image of Christ . You are now on more solid ground in your faith journey. Christ has had a hold of you this whole time. Enjoy Him!

The eunuch asks is there is anything that is preventing him from being baptized? Is there anything more he must do? Anything particular he must do to make himself worthy? Only believe. So often we make things more complicated than they are. Faith. We are welcomed in by faith. Not works, dear eunuch. You have heard, now believe. You are more than welcome to step into the water.

Amen! Faith, not works. This is what I had the hardest time with until recently. I was raised in church, accepted Christ as a child, and was baptized at the age of 13. However, I don’t feel like I truly understood what it means to be saved by faith until recent years. I let works take precedence over a real relationship with the Lord, even though in my college years I felt the Lord’s conviction about this. Since moving back home after college, I discovered She Reads Truth and decided to use it to start studying the Bible in more depth. It was only then that I began to understand that it wasn’t about how “good” I was or how many things I could check off my Christian to do list. My salvation is a gift from Jesus that I did not and could never earn. Now, at age 24, I am finally at a place of genuine faith and feel that I have a true relationship with Christ, my Savior. Since I began reading Acts, I have been wondering if re-baptism is a route I should take. Do you all think this step is necessary in my situation? It is something I am going to be praying and asking God for wisdom about, but I wanted to also seek wise counsel from those who may understand more about baptism than I do.

in my opinion, you don’t need to be baptized, but you might want to do it again as a marker in your life, a symbol, to proclaim your renewed faith and relationship with Jesus. I was baptized at about 8 years old, but decided in high school to be baptized again as a sign of my faith in my teen years. hope this helps.

Kristi, I’ve had a similar faith journey as you. It has taken me until my late 30s to be able to deepen my relationship with God in the way I wanted and needed it to be. You are blessed that you are at that place at 24! Praise Jesus! You have already accepted the Lord and have been baptized. He understands. You could always reaffirm your faith with your pastor in front of your church family if you would like, as a way to share your commitment to God.

I prayed that your daughter be released from the bonds of depression Melissa. I recently was in the same dark place but by the grace of God was released from its hold. I’ll continue to pray for her and for all those who suffer with this horrid affliction.

Please join me in prayer for my teenage daughter. We are going through a rough time with depression and she has lost her faith. I pray every day the Lord will bring her joy and pull her out of this deep depression.

Father God please bring Melissa’s daghter out of the dark place she is in. Help her see and believe in Your truth, and fill her with Your joy. Please do this by Your grace. And I pray that You would comfort Melissa during this time.

Praying for your daughter and family Melissa. I’m about to have my first child and my most heartfelt prayer for him is that he will know and follow Christ. It’s so easy to slip away in your teenage years. And experiencing mental health pains without God- I can’t imagine! I will pray that she finds her way back to the One who loves and heals us.

I believe that Jesus Christ is lord! I believe he in authority over all things. I pray for your teenage daughter in his all powerful name. He reins. He will give both of you enough grace for each day.

Praying for your daughter Melissa. My daughter is 12 and just entering these turbulent years. I know she will make it through as long as she holds on tight to Jesus. Don’t forget that He hasn’t, nor will he, ever leave her, regardless of how she’s feeling. Like I say about my daughter, she has Jesus in her pocket, going with her wherever she goes. I lift your daughter up to Him, out of her sadness. I also pray for your guidance, wisdom, and strength to help her make it through.
