Day 13

Grace Day

from the Ezekiel: Come to Life (Lent 2022) reading plan

John 15:3

BY She Reads Truth

Lent is a season where we reflect on the depth of our sin and embrace the hope and strength found only in the cross of Christ. We seek unhurried moments of quiet to read Scripture, pray, confess, and repent. Take some time today to catch up on your reading, make space for prayer, and rest in God’s presence.

“You are already clean because of the word I have spoken to you.”
—John 15:3

Amen Stephanie. I love this whole chapter in John, may we abide in Jesus. These grace days are so needed, this study is difficult yet I know it is needed! In my other study we were going through Hosea, the double dose of wrath was almost too much. But Jesus bore that for us, praise Him. I don’t see a ton of that highlighted just yet in the Ezekiel study but we know it is coming. Sometimes the focus on the sins and punishment makes me despair and want to give up, yet I know that is not the intent. Praying for you Rebecca and your son, Heidi for your family, Rhonda J for your niece. Sandi and GramsieSue , praying for your husbands.

Asking for prayers today please. Heading over the mountain to Reno to pick up my mother. Please pray for a safe trip and a harmonious time. I’m having some trouble being obedient in this. Thanks y’all. Will be praying for all of you as I’m on the journey (husband doing the driving).

It’s a beautiful day in the west. Bright and sunny reflecting off the snow covered lawn. I agree with you Churchmouse that it is an honor to journey alongside such amazing women.

I am a work in progress and will be until the day I die. I am so thankful for a righteous God that loves me enough to send His perfect son to pay the price for my idolatry, selfishness, anger, bitterness, indifference, impurity, and so much more. Because of His word I am clean. Every time I stray he pursues me and draws me back to the sweet sweet goodness of His embrace. Thank you, thank you, thank you Abba for loving even me. Thank you for Jesus.

Congrats Cindy Hanna!!! My prayers for all who requested.
I forgot to mention in my previous post, I got to FaceTime with Finley and mom, Monica, last evening, I was at a friends house at the time. My friend, Angie, has a pug and I showed her the dog and it made her evening. Then Finley and I sang a couple of songs together — ones with hand movements — they made Mom and Dad laugh (the songs are cute, kinda funny songs). They are trying to give her Tylenol and very small doses of valium to keep Finley’s back spasms to a minimum and allow Finley to stay still. Monica says so far it’s working — we have about 8 – 10 more hours to go before she can get up.

Good morning Shes. It’s a bright sunny day here, especially with the snow that fell last night (and covered all my blooming daffodils!). Lifting up everyone’s requests and asking for continued prayer for my son. He is feeling so hopeless and turned again to drink for comfort, which of course brings only more sadness. He’s living with my husband and me and we sat down with him and let him know that to stay with us he can’t drink and needs to go to AA. But I’m not very good with tough love so pray for God’s guidance as we handle this. My husband has been more than patient but it’s beginning to cause stress between us as well. Yesterday when I was reading our scriptures it jumped out to me that God had to punish people because they were so sinful and their hearts were hardened. I know that my son has turned away from God but would/could find forgiveness if he’d just turn back to Him.
Thank you for listening. This is breaking this mama’s heart, but so grateful to have Jesus with me. I do covet your prayers. ❤️

Here in the Mid Atlantic, we are having plummeting temperatures, blustery winds, snow falling down and piling up. Perfect day to snuggle under my blanket in my favorite chair and pray for all my SRT sisters. Thank you for this Grace Day where I forego studying and spend that time praying. The list is long but what a privilege to intercede, knowing God is already meeting needs and calming any anxiousness. I’m praising God for His goodness and His loving kindness. I’m thanking God that His mercies are new every morning. And I’m humbled by this community of believers who love Jesus and are His hands and feet. What an honor to journey alongside you all, following Jesus, until we’re all Home.
