Grace Day

Open Your Bible

Joel 2:13

Take this day to catch up on your reading, pray, and rest in the presence of the Lord.

Tear your hearts,
not just your clothes,
and return to the LORD your God.
For he is gracious and compassionate,
slow to anger, abounding in faithful love,
and he relents from sending disaster.
—Joel 2:13

Well, I fell behind and am caught up again. (I am so thankful for “Grace Day”!) Have a wonderful week ahead, sisters! Thanks for prayers for our son (and his back pain). Things are looking better today!

Praying for you, Nancy! I just moved churches last month for similar reasons, and found a new church that is such a beautiful community of believers living out their faith imperfectly, but for a perfect God. That move is always so difficult, but I pray the Lord sustains you and your husband on this venture.

  6. Nancy Singleton says:

It’s time for my husband & me to find a new church. It’s been easy to avoid action during Covid, but as things open up, it’s time to visit others & find a new church home. Please pray for us in this venture, as it means leaving the small church where some of our children & grandchildren attend-a great blessing. But we’re more conservative, not progressive as the church is, & aren’t being fed spiritually there.

    Amen

This rendering of the heart over sin shows me how I should feel and react to my sin. God is a holy God. Thank the Lord for giving us Jesus because we can never be righteous enough to earn our way to heaven. Happy Saturday, SRT sisters

So thankful and praising Him that He is gracious and compassionate,
slow to anger, abounding in faithful love!…All that I am not, but all that I want to become.

Up earlier than usual today b/c getting together w/ Christian friends I haven’t seen in a long time can’t wait. They are from a big group and we are having a meeting/gathering/worship service/fun time. Can’t wait. It’s been over ten years. I previously had a roommate who didn’t want me to do anything without her, and I have been a part of this group before I met my roommate, so I stopped going to meetings. Enough of that, I’m rambling, God has blessed me to be able to get back together w/ the group again.
Sisters, I’d like to ask for prayer once again for my sister, Carol, and nephew, Jake. Carol has bailed Jake out of jail again and in so doing almost got herself thrown in jail. She does have a temper. Please pray for her also b/c she’s a CPA and makes a living off of it but lately hasn’t been able to concentrate for any length of tome to get her work done. Thank you.
Have a great and blessed weekend sisters.

Angie, yes, my daughter was born last year and I joined SRT right after my son was born/end of my pregnancy with him 3.5 years ago. Time does fly!

TINA – so well said! “His arms are wide, even wider when we fall short.” Thankful for this reminder.

Walking through a hard season with some dear ones as they fight for their relationship. So grateful that our God is gracious and compassionate!

    You’re a good good Father!
    That’s who You are.
    And I’m loved by You.
    That’s who I am!
    – “Good good Father” by Chris Tomlin

  21. MARTHA HIX says:

    ❤️

    1. Victoria E says:

Hi Martha how are you thinking of you

  22. Tina says:

So very thankful we don’t have to literally do the first part of the verse.. Because of Jesus and what He has done and given to us!
    Thank you Jesus.

Not having to come to God fearful, what a blessing! Not having to come to our Father worried for the repercussions, (wrath, fire and brimstone) for what we’ve done, (sin, wrong,)

    But God…

Faithful, loving, wonderful, forgiving, gracious, compassionate God, His arms are so wide, and even wider when we fall short(for me that’s every day.. EVERY DAY!)

In awe of His compassion, grace, mercy and amazingly awesome ‘second to none’love.
Thank you Lord God, Thank you!

    Happy God Blessed Saturday ya’ll!❤
