Day 20

Grace Day

from the Proverbs reading plan

James 1:5

BY She Reads Truth

Take this day to catch up on your reading, pray, and rest in the presence of the Lord.

Now if any of you lacks wisdom, he should ask God—who gives to all generously and ungrudgingly—and it will be given to him.
—James 1:5

Years ago probably close to 30 years ago a friend of mine gently told me ask “God for wisdom.”
These past three years I’ve been really praying this more fervently.

  4. Churchmouse says:

God first in all things. There’s not one news outlet, not one political party, not any church denomination that can claim His wisdom. It’s not even close. Let’s lean into God. Let’s open our Bibles and seek His wisdom alone. A far wiser use of our time.

  5. Angela Sutherland says:

Oh how I need God’s wisdom leading my days! In this world, I want to lead my kids well…I can’t do that with the “wisdom” the world offers. I’ve been trying to be intentional in asking Him for His wisdom each day. I’m so thankful for His willingness to share, if we just ask.

  6. ERB says:

    Susan Crosby, AMEN!!!

  7. Blessed Beth says:

    Amen Susan, amen

  8. Susan Crosby says:

The wisdom we ask for is God’s wisdom and not man’s wisdom. With so much division among people even among churches and doctrine we have to be careful in whose wisdom we seek. In Romans we are told that some who professed to be wise became fools.
