Day 13

Grace Day

from the Ephesians reading plan

1 Corinthians 13:13

BY She Reads Truth

Take this day to catch up on your reading, pray, and rest in the presence of the Lord.

Now these three remain: faith, hope, and love—but the greatest of these is love.
—1 Corinthians 13:13

  1. Harriet Thomas says:

Love is a word I’ve often used but I’m learning how to express it in my adult life God’s way. Being rooting and grounded in love is teaching me the fruit of my life should be expressions of joy, peace, patience, goodness, faith, gentleness kindness and self control. When I think about the fruit of the spirit, I’m reminded of the devotion earlier this week that talked about the harvest of righteousness being filled with goodness and truth. These lessons were not taught to me in this way growing up in the church. If fact, I thought the Holy Spirit was “something” church goers “caught” since it was only expressed in a shout. Now, I am realizing the Holy Spirit is a person who I invite into my heart, house, home and harvest through intimate relationship. My prayer is today is Psalm 51 to receive a praying spirit through my contrite heart. With love, HT.
