To the teachers who are going to go back to teaching in school. I want to encourage you that if you have been called of God to teach in that school He has not called you there to die of a virus. He has a plan for you to be a light of faith and not fear. Yes He may call you to wear an N95 mask. Know what He wants you to do and you can walk in faith and not in fear.

    1. Lara Castillo says:

      Terri, are you a teacher?

    2. Ashley P. says:

I appreciate your encouragement and I agree he calls us to be a light of faith and not fear, but I respectfully disagree that we won’t necessarily die of a virus. Jesus told us in John 16:33, “I have told you all this so that you may have peace in me. Here on earth you will have many trials and sorrows. But take heart, because I have overcome the world.” We aren’t necessarily shielded from harm because God has called us to something (although God certainly could protect us from it if he chooses). Christians have gotten sick from it already. And in yesterday’s passage with Peter and Jesus after his resurrection, Jesus told him he would be crucified for his faith (John 21:18-19).
So some teachers could die from the virus, even those who are called by God to teach (although the fatality rate is so very low that statistically very few will), but there is risk in everything. Some of us may even die in car crashes on the way to work. But this life is not all there is. And God is sovereign and loves us. He has not called us to have a spirit of fear but of power, love, and self-discipline (2 Tim. 1:17). He has the power to save.

Lara, Ashley, as an ER nurse who is more exposed than any teacher, and having multiple positive exposures myself, I found her words encouraging. I don’t think she was implying that Christians cannot die or get sick from a virus.

  4. Catherine McVey says:

    Amen!

  5. Churchmouse says:

Our God is the great I AM. Not I WAS. Not I WILL BE. He is I AM. Always present. Always existing. Never ending. Never failing. Never fading. He is THE WORD. THE WORD does not exist apart from Him. The Word is always present. Always existing. Never ending. Never failing. Never fading.

With all that is going on in our world, He is fully present and His Word is unchanging. What a comfort that is. What confidence it gives.

    1. Tara Beatty says:

      Amen Churchmouse!!!

    John 1:1

In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.

  7. Indiana Christina says:

Yes, in the beginning was the word and the word was with God and the word was God. He was with God in the beginning. Praise be to Jesus Christ, who being God’s word, is the same yesterday and today and forever. He never changes, even though everything in this world is passing away. He never fades. And He is our loving Savior, who cares for us and intercedes on our behalf. What a great assurance in the ever-changing world and uncertain times we live in.

And that dear sisters is truth!

    His Word never fails.

    His Word is for real.

His Word is for you, me, Joe, Sara, susie, Josh…. for ALL.

His Word was for yesterday, the generations before.

His Word is for now. For us..ALL OF US.

His Word is for tomorrow. The generations to come.

His Word is for the day after tomorrow.

    And the next..

    For always.

    Forever..

    Thank you God..
    Thank you.

    Amen.

Praying you all my SRT sisters have blessed weekend. ❤

    1. Mari V says:

❤️ this Tina! Have a blessed Saturday! I am enjoying my car! Every time I get in it I thank God for providing. I redid my budget and though things will be tight, it’s going to work. Plus knowing my God, He will provide!
