Good morning my beautiful SRT sisters! I posted this when we read this Psalm 27:4 earlier this week.
There’s a beautiful song by the Maranatha singers: One Thing Have I Desired. If you have a moment today listen to it it’s absolutely beautiful! And at the recommendation this morning I read the entire Psalm. So glad I did as I focus today on the last verse (14). Wait for The Lord; be strong, and let your heart take courage; wait for the Lord!

I am THANKFUL that even in this craziness in which we live, I can still seek Him and find Him. His POWER, PRESENCE, and PROMISES are with me wherever I am! Like SEARCHING, I miss our community of believers and hold on to the HOPE that in the not too distant future the gathering will once again be part of my worship experience.Seek Him and His goodness and have a blessed weekend ladies. The words of The Living Bible say it so well:
“The one thing I want from God,
the thing I seek most of all,
is the privilege of meditating in his Temple,
Living In His Presence Every Day Of My Life,

I should have read the chapter before I finish my previous post.
The last 2/3 of verse 6, “Therefore I will offer sacrifices of joy in His tabernacle;
I will sing, yes, I will sing praises to the Lord.” (NKJV)
Tears streaming as I read this, remembering what now seems like forever ago – standing among other believers, singing praises, surrounded by the sounds of those praises, hands lifted in awe and thankfulness.Verses 13-14 – wow.
13 I would have lost heart, unless
I had believed
That I would see the goodnes of the Lord
In the land of the living.
14 Wait on the Lord;
Be of good courage,
And He shall strengthen your heart;
Wait, I say, on the Lord! (NKJV)In the current state of the world, it is a daily struggle to not lose hope … the depressing isolation and seemingly no end in sight to the ravages of the virus and violence. Thank you, Jesus, we are waiting!

Totally agree, Churchmouse. I always read at least the whole chapter on these 1 verse days as I want to see (and hopefully understand) the overall setting/perspective of the verse. Thank you for the insight you share with us. I and many others here have you and your family on our prayer lists.

Psalm 27 deserves to be read in its entirety. It starts with David giving himself a pep talk, reminding himself of the Lord’s faithfulness in protecting him. David is confident and highly values being in the presence of God, in His sanctuary, being the beneficiary of all that God offers. He pleads with the Lord to remain with him, to continue to be his helper. David renews his commitment to the Lord, proclaiming his desire to walk along the right path. He closes the psalm confident again of the Lord’s goodness and yet reminding himself to be patient, brave and courageous in his waiting for the Lord to act. His pep talk is powerful and profound because its reliance is on the promises of God, the character and nature of the Lord. Indeed, it is the Lord Who is our confidence as well. We repeat David’s words: “so why should I be afraid?”

Dearest,dearest Lord God, a few weeks ago(day 17), you asked..
“.. What do you want me to do for you?”
Today, Lord God, I asked for one thing, Savior, Protector, Provider, and one thing only do I ask, to live in your house, Lord, all my life, to marvel there at your goodness, the gift of your grace, your mercy, new each morning, your love, faithful and true.. and to ask for your guidance as I go through this gift of a day from you Lord God, guide me, direct me, teach me, lead me Lord God, lead me.
I will sing, I will praise you, my Lord..
I will praise the Lord.
Amen.
