Day 27

Grace Day

from the Genesis reading plan

Isaiah 43:2

BY She Reads Truth

Use this day to pray, rest, and reflect on this week’s reading, giving thanks for the grace that is ours in Christ.

I will be with you
when you pass through the waters,
and when you pass through the rivers,
they will not overwhelm you.
You will not be scorched
when you walk through the fire,
and the flame will not burn you.
Isaiah 43:2

Yesterday was my fourth day of radiation for breast cancer and I have been hanging onto this verse. I was feeling discouraged last night about my skin already starting to burn and it almost made me cry when I saw this verse here today. God knows and He is with me. He keeps reminding me in so many ways.

I’m posting again. I told my story as I still struggle with that memory. I’m thankful we all came out alive. While I know I can’t bring back time. I struggle with the fact that I should have told my kids dad, NO. No we are not going. It’s not safe. My son, the kids dad and I had NO life jackets. Plus forgot the oars!! I feel I still need healing from that memory, BUT GOD! God was with us! Today I’m on the road to recovery, setting boundaries and slowly healing. I’m not the same since leaving the unhealthy home my kids and I were living.

Mari, the telling of your story has brought back a memory from high school. Ninth grade to be exact. I w part of a debate team and we had a Saturday tournament at a nearby college. One of the seniors volunteered to drive. Our advisor was going to meet us there. We left early, giving ourselves plenty of time to get there as it was quite foggy out. Our student driver was cautious – visibility was near zero in places. We stayed down a slight hill, literally inching our way, when she suddenly stopped the car. She refused to keep going because she couldn’t see the road. A couple of the girls encouraged her to just keep going slowly but she said she couldn’t. She was confident something was in front of the car, blocking the way though she couldn’t specifically identify anything. I put down my car window, stretched my head out in an attempt to get a good look. I didn’t see anything but I heard water. Moving water. The driver put the car in park and see and I stepped out of the car. We realized we were on a boat ramp into the river that ran not far from the college campus

Oh Churchmouse! God was definitely with you and those students. Thankful that the driver knew she had to stop!

I already posted once, but I think I need to share my whole story….Thank you Mari for sharing your story. It reminded me of a time my husband, daughter, who was around 8 ay the time and I decided to try river rafting for the first time. It was not a very high speed river and it was also near the end of the day and we got stuck on a rock at the top of a little waterfall. We had no idea what to do, the boat was filling up and there was noone else on the river. My husband doesn’t swim, my daughter was terrified and my only plan was to jump out and float to the end of the river to get help, but I didn’t want to leave my daughter. Well, God provided another boat full of experienced people to help us out just in time. One of them jumped out of the boat and got behind ours and dislodged it. Then another one of them climbed in with us and tied our boat to theirs and got us down the little rapid and to the end of the river. I honestly don’t know how we got to the end because our boat had taken on so much water. But, glory to God! He has perfect timing and is so faithful! And He gave us such a great story to tell. Thank you Lord!

This verse is so timely, especially for a dear Aunt of mine who just lost her husband. I forwarded on this verse to her minutes ago. Thank you, dear God, for being with us every step of our lives.

    What a promise this is…!

No matter what.. no matter how hot the furnace, as for Daniel s friends, no matter the depth of the water as in Ezekiel 47.. God is there.. present in all our woes and Joy’s.. Hallelujah!

All praise Lord God… ALL praise to YOU who is able, present now and always..
Thank you Lord God. Thank you!❤
