Advent is a season of anticipation and celebration. The weary world rejoices at the Messiah’s first advent, even as we long for His return. Use this day to pray, rest, and reflect on the hope we have because Christ left the glories of heaven to be born in Bethlehem.
For you know the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ: Though he was rich, for your sake he became poor, so that by his poverty you might become rich.
—2 Corinthians 8:9

I too depend on SRT for so much spiritual education, friendships and growth through the word of God. This has been a very tough year/Christmas as my husbands business is still struggling and we can barely put food on the table. We owe massive amounts of debt and don’t have a penny in savings….and I’m 49 and feel like I’m running out of time. I keep going back to Hebrew 11:1 that reminds me to stay faithful. I cry often, hoping my children don’t catch me. They ask why we argue all the time. I want to tell them don’t ever start your own business ;) It has been beyond difficult and sometimes I just want to give up. I don’t know it it’s God’s will for our company to be successful, but I must remember to not give up….as God did not give up on us!! All prayers from my SRT girls are welcome and much needed! I hope to cry more tears of joy than pain this next year Lots of love and Merry Christmas to all my SRT sisters ❤️

The weary world rejoices! Lord, we are waiting for your return – for you to give us eternal rest. I know too often I take your love and Your grace for granted. You gave up Your richness in heaven to become poor on earth so that I could be rich in you. Thank you for Your love, peace and grace that You give to me.

As I just read Luke 18:22, the account of Jesus and the Rich Ruler who couldn’t give up his wealth to gain his soul, I am thankful for a Savior who so willingly traded and took on my poverty to make me rich in faith!
