Day 13

Grace Day

from the Because He Lives reading plan

Isaiah 53:4-6

BY She Reads Truth

Use this day to pray, rest, and reflect on this week’s reading, giving thanks for the grace that is ours in Christ.

4 Yet he himself bore our sicknesses,
and he carried our pains;
but we in turn regarded him stricken,
struck down by God, and afflicted.
5 But he was pierced because of our rebellion,
crushed because of our iniquities;
punishment for our peace was on him,
and we are healed by his wounds.
6 We all went astray like sheep;
we all have turned to our own way;
and the LORD has punished him
for the iniquity of us all.
—Isaiah 53:4–6

    He suffered for our sin. But the ones who crucified Him said He suffered for His own sin. He was innocent of all sin, yet He died a death reserved for the worst of sinners. He did this out of His righteousness, His justice, and His love for us!

    I find today the saddest day of Easter weekend. It seems like a day we can’t breathe. One thing is over but the next thing has not yet begun.

    By HIS stripes I AM HEALED!

    Never have I ever been so thankful for silence. My heart and my lips cannot stop praising my Jesus!

  8. Stephanie says:

    How the disciples felt today is how those of us who struggle with belief feel sometimes- hopeless, confused, without purpose. Lord, help our unbelief. Thank you for showing yourself plainly to the disciples through your resurrection tomorrow.

    1. Bryanna Lynne says:

      Amen
