Day 6

Grace Day

from the Luke reading plan

Psalm 91:2–4

BY She Reads Truth

Use this day to pray, rest, and reflect on this week’s reading, giving thanks for the grace that is ours in Christ.

I will say concerning the Lord, who is my refuge and my fortress,
my God in whom I trust:
He himself will rescue you from the bird trap,
from the destructive plague.
He will cover you with his feathers;
you will take refuge under his wings.
His faithfulness will be a protective shield.

—Psalm 91:2–4

    He will cover you with his feathers. He will shelter you with his wings. His faithful promises are your armor and protection.

    I heard a story on this verse which I’ve never forgot. Girl walking home late at night. Decided to take a shortcut thru a park instead of walking the extra 10 minutes around the edge. While in the park a group of thugs approached her and was hassling her. She remembered this text and said, “I’m covered with feathers” the men started grabbing her and she was terrified so she just kept saying it, again and again. I’m covered with feathers I’m covered with feathers, I’m covered with feathers. The men said, “this girl is crazy” and they left her alone and went away and she got home safely. I love how the beautiful literal quoting of this verse may have saved her life that night. You’re covered with feathers today too. Totally totally safe, no matter what it may look like. Praise God!!
