Day 6

Grace Day

from the This Is the Gospel reading plan

John 1:1-5

BY She Reads Truth

Use today to pray, rest, and reflect on this week’s reading, giving thanks for the grace that is ours in Christ.

In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. He was with God in the beginning. All things were created through him, and apart from him not one thing was created that has been created. In him was life, and that life was the light of men. That light shines in the darkness, and yet the darkness did not overcome it.

-John 1:1–5

Before doing today’s plan I was journaling through a really hard season in my life, and it’s easy to get caught up in the “what if I had done this” or “I knew better and still did that” but God’s grace isn’t for us to look back and say I can be better but that we can’t be better and that without God’s grace we would be dead in our sin. It’s in his grace we find freedom from those thoughts of “I could be better” and we are able to allow Christ’s death on the cross be enough to save and transform us.
