Praise God we don’t have to sacrifice like that anymore!

20 “And he went away and began to proclaim in the Decapolis how much Jesus had done for him, and everyone marveled.”

  3. Sharon Ide says:

Wonderful to see the faithfulness of Joshua of Nun, as well as God’s kindness to sustain more than 600,000 through the wilderness despite the Israelites’ fickle and rebellious hearts.

Love the passage in Mark 5:19-20 “…He said to him, “Go home to your people and report to them what great things the Lord has done for you, and how He had mercy on you.” 20 And he went away and began to proclaim in Decapolis what great things Jesus had done for him; and everyone was amazed.” This is how Gods message is spread– people who have been changed by Jesus telling others what God has done for them!

I thought this connection was cool: Drink offerings added to sacrifice- not as atonement, but as extra to please the Lord though it can’t atone for sin. We are living sacrifices (Romans 12) that pour out our lives as drink offerings (2 Tim. 4:5-7) to please the Lord, not for atonement because our Great Lamb has already done that! May we live our lives in light of this!

Thanks Jessica – love that connection!
