Wow. Ezekiel 34 totally rocked me today. There are so many ties to the book of John, especially John chapter 10. And Psalm 23…he makes me lie down in green pastures.
The last verse is Ez 34 was just so comforting: 31 You are my sheep, the sheep of my pasture, and I am your God, declares the Sovereign Lord.’ ” The ESV says “you are my human sheep.” This whole section is so powerful, especially when you tie it to New Testament promises. So Awesome!!

    1. Lauren S says:

Loved that too Leah! Especially as Jesus is of the line of David and comes to be out shepherd

    2. Christina D. says:

Yes! I loved this connection of the shepherd as well! It’s such strong affirmation for me when we read these ties between the New and Old testaments!

yes Katrina, my thoughts as well♥

  3. Christina D. says:

11 No discipline seems pleasant at the time, but painful. Later on, however, it produces a harvest of righteousness and peace for those who have been trained by it.
Love the idea of “a harvest of righteousness and peace.” Something that has always made an impression on me is people that I think of in my personal life as “spiritual giants” emanate peace. Its His peace…the peace that surpasses understanding and circumstance. And usually, those people have also endured great hardship at some point or another. This is something I need to cling to as I felt recently the Lord telling me not to be afraid of things being difficult. Not exactly the most fun message you want to receive but I’ve been thinking on it and praying about it a lot. I am often afraid of pain, difficulty, and hardship. It’s humbling, or rather even humiliating to admit at all considering the state of the world compared to the privileged life I lead in middle class America. I am working on receiving the Lord’s peace regardless of circumstance and believing He is faithful.

  4. Katrina says:

A pre-Thanksgiving message today in Hebrews 12:28 Therefore, since we are receiving a kingdom that cannot be shaken, let us be thankful, and so worship God acceptably with reverence and awe,

  5. Linda says:

After a long book of Ezekiel and all the doom and gloom of disobedience, to read today of a great shepherd who will gather and take care of his flock…how comforting in these days of awful headlines. A calming and encouraging word to begin our day.

    1. karen says:

      Amen! I agree!

    2. Rebecca says:

Definitely a message that I will look back on when I am feeling hopeless or defeated! Such a comfort and a blessing. God loves us so much!

  6. Laura says:

8 When I say to the wicked, ‘You wicked person, you will surely die,’ and you do not speak out to dissuade them from their ways, that wicked person will die for their sin, and I will hold you accountable for their blood. 9 But if you do warn the wicked person to turn from their ways and they do not do so, they will die for their sin, though you yourself will be saved.

11 Say to them, ‘As surely as I live, declares the Sovereign Lord, I take no pleasure in the death of the wicked, but rather that they turn from their ways and live. Turn! Turn from your evil ways! Why will you die, people of Israel?’
I am responsible to trust the Lord and speak the truth in love, and God will take care of the rest…Lord help me if I don’t!

    1. Heidi L says:

Yes, Vs 11 says the Lord God takes no pleasure in the death of the wicked… Wow. I have a lot to work on. I would take a lot of pleasure in the death of evil people– terrorists like ISIS and murderers like Planned Parenthood. I need to refocus my disdain… It’s for the Father of Lies who stands behind these unbelievers. EPH 6:12 “For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms.”

  7. Courtney says:

This is my favorite chapter of Hebrews. So much good instruction and encouragement.

  8. Debi D. says:
