Some thoughts on waiting sewn throughout today’s reading…
3:24 I say: The Lord is my portion, therefore I will put my hope in Him. 25 The Lord is good to those who WAIT FOR HIM, to the person who seeks Him. 26 It is good to WAIT QUIETLY for deliverance from the Lord.
2 Peter 3:12 …AS YOU WAIT for and earnestly desire the coming of the day of God… 13 Based on His promise, WE WAIT for the new heavens and a new earth, where righteousness will dwell. 14 Therefore, dear friends, WHILE YOU WAIT for these things, make every effort to be found at peace with Him without spot or blemish.WAITING IS…
*hoping in the Lord, knowing He is my portion; nothing else I’m waiting for will satisfy
*earnestly seeking Him, looking for Him to move according to His Word
*being quiet, letting His Word have the final say (not mine)
*earnestly desiring His coming; wanting His presence more than His gifts
*basing my thoughts on His promises, not my worries about ‘what if’ he doesn’t come through
*looking forward to the return of righteousness, where sinful living will no longer be tolerated
*being found at peace, being faultless & pure in the waiting, through Jesus, knowing peace & purity starts now, in the waiting, not once he returns.-

Love this! The same theme of waiting stood out to me in reading this morning. Waiting is ultimately a reflection of God’s patience with us, hoping that we will repent and turn to Him.
“The Lord is not slow to fulfill his promise as some count slowness, but is PATIENT toward you, not wishing that any should perish, but that all should reach repentance.”
2 Peter 3:9Thank you Lord for this never ending patience and grace towards our wayward hearts! May I️ be able to reflect this in my daily walk with you, waiting on your promises, being still before you, and earnestly desiring your coming back.

For those who have thyroid issues then you could know that this gland generates hormones within the body. When your body just isn’t capable to generate these hormones in the manner that it should it trigger imbalances within the body that may lead to the excessive production of moles.

if the Lord has not decreed it?
38 Is it not from the mouth of the Most High
that both calamities and good things come? […] 57 You came near when I called you,
and you said, “Do not fear.”
So many verses I have leaned on at different times of life in these Lamentations chapters but these three stood out in a new way to me this morning. Waking up at 3:30am and finally reading this at 4am after my mind has already run a marathon of anxiety I found an anchor in these verses. I can think and worry about the future but ultimately the Lord is the only one speaking things into existence. My thoughts bring nothing to fruition. Verse 58 is the ultimate reminder that in these moments of uncertainty when I call on Him He is near and reminding me “Do not fear.” It’s quite literally as simple as that. -
chapter 3 of lamentations starts out with such hopelessness! jeremiah’s life reminds me of job’s as well. how could they have been able to stand their lives? but then, everything changes in v.21: “but still i dare to hope when i remember this: the steadfast love of the Lord never ceases; his mercies never come to an end; they are new every morning; great is thy faithfulness. “the Lord is my portion,” says my soul, “therefore i will hope in him.” the Lord is good to those who wait for him, to the soul who seeks him.” that “but” may just be the biggest one in all of scripture. every morning when i open my eyes i can feel His new mercies washing over me, allowing me a fresh start once again, no matter how faithless i was the day before. great is His faithfulness!

This verse stood out to me this morning, too! Such hope after reading about all the destruction in the surrounding verses. Great is His faithfulness!
