To take something saturated with a liquid, typically, and twist it until all the liquid has run out.

lamentations 2:19 cry out your heart. when your upset, shut your door, cry and cry and cry. sit in Gods presence, lift up your hands. give him control, take a break and go back stronger. the people wouldnt do this and so their strength disappeared. why? they cut themself off from God. so in times of trial its so important that we run to God

lamentations 2:15. we are Gods joy to be made holy. Are we living in a way that we can be seen as holy – that Gods work on us can be seen? that our joy rings out as much as the christmas spirit does these days? how can we do this? 1. by praying that youll be able to. 2. by finding small delights to share/tasks to do, so we may bring light

Convicting, 2 Peter 2:20. if they have escaped the corruption of the world by knowing our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ and are again entangled in it and overcome they are worse off at the end than they were at the beginning. it would have been better for them not to have known the way of righteousness then to have known it and then turn their backs on the sacred command that was passed on to them.

2 Peter 10:9 if this is so, then the Lord knows how to rescue the godly from trials and to hold the unrighteous for punishment on the day of judgment.
God can save all of us. We’re never meant to be perfect or “clean” or to not make mistakes ever … But he’s the only way to save us from ourselves.

2 Peter 2:19 They promise them freedom, while they themselves are slaves of depravity—for “people are slaves to whatever has mastered them.”
This verse rings so true..it’s so easy to let things of the world feel like the most important things. Our jobs, our “things,” social media (at times) ….when we stop to look a what drives us, are we slaves to things that are not important in the long run? Does time at work or on social media take away from the very things God has put in front of us to enjoy? This verse really has me thinking..what am I inadvertently a slave to?-
I marked that verse, too! It really resonated with me.

Reading Lamentations leaves me feeling grateful that we live in a fairly peaceful part of the world and reminds me to pray for brothers and sisters who live where war is a daily thing. Great read since Veteran’s Day is coming up this week and am grateful for those who have given their lives to protect others.
