    11But as for you, O man of God, flee these things. Pursue righteousness, godliness, faith, love, steadfastness, gentleness.

  5. Bobbi T-B says:

    1Timothy 6:6 But godliness with contentment is great gain

    Lord, grant me the serenity of peace that is a life following you, not being tempted or jealous of what others may have or where they may be in their life. We are all on our own spiritual journey with you God, and that is where the riches of life resides

    We need to stay close to the Jesus and his word and stick up and tell everyone we love him❤️. We should accept him into our life and ask the Holy Spirit to guide us and shows us Gods path of life for us.

    Aubrie compare what you are hearing to what the Bible says. Dig deep into his word, if it doesn’t align with who god is or what his word says you need to question it.

    1. SarahMay says:

      Exactly. Anything that sounds good, rationalizes sin or selfish behavior, doesn’t require repentance and dealing with sin personally, or exalts man or things above God is false teaching. As we’ve seen, it is intended to be deceptive (and looks enticing), so we need to stay close to Jesus and His Word, and ask the Holy Spirit to guide us.

    From 1 Tim: 3 If anyone teaches otherwise and does not agree to the sound instruction of our Lord Jesus Christ and to godly teaching, 4 they are conceited and understand nothing. … who have been robbed of the truth and who think that godliness is a means to financial gain.
    From Jeremiah. 23?16 This is what the Lord Almighty says: “Do not listen to what the prophets are prophesying to you;
    they fill you with false hopes.
    They speak visions from their own minds,
    not from the mouth of the Lord.
    This stood out to me today, too. Old Testament and New- prophets and teachers giving a message to make them popular and rich- not the truth. I/We have to seek to know God’s Word ourselves.

    1. Aubrie says:

      I got the same takeaway. I am trying to figure out what exactly “false teaching” looks like today for us.. if anyone has thoughts feel free to share.
