Micah…he must’ve been unpopular with his message to all the false prophets who were denying destruction of the Southern Kingdom of Judah & it’s capital Jerusalem, as well as Samaria (the capital of Israel, the Northern Kingdom). They also denied exile (notice those false prophets didn’t make it into our Bible!). The ones who did, not only warn of judgment, but also give hope in repentance and surrender to the Living God, Yahweh.

If Christianity were all about dos and don’ts, but not about true life change, it would be no different than any other religion with its rules. If it was all about having a happy, easy life, there’d be no need for a Messiah or Savior! It’s about repentance, turning from sin & idolatry, and following Christ. THEN, we can say, There is therefore now no condemnation for those who are IN Christ Jesus. The destruction and exile Israel faced as a nation doesn’t have to be our spiritual future, if we turn from our idols & sin and surrender to Jesus our Savior.

  3. CINDEE says:

Praise God for His Holy Spirit and Hid promise of justification through Christ

  4. CINDEE says:

Strong caution in Micah 2! The lord is planning a calamity “from which you cannot remove your neck”. Stiff necks are gonna bow when He returns too.

I loved today’s reading and found another app called Bible.is to play it as I listened!

Romans 8:5 Those who live according to the flesh have their minds set on what the flesh desires; but those who live in accordance with the Spirit have their minds set on what the Spirit desires.

Living my Faith and not by “human” wants is the way to live according to the Lord!

I also love that we have been adopted as sons and daughters not as slaves! This is a FREEDOM to be loved!

    1. Sarah says:

Thanks for sharing the listening app! I’m excited to try that!

  6. Kathy N says:

I pray that prayer as well, for you, for us all.

  7. Laura says:

15 For you did not receive a spirit of slavery to fall back into fear, but you received the Spirit of adoption, by whom we cry out, “Abba, Father! ”
Love this! At LPL a few weeks ago, Beth pointed out that He didn’t just exchange a spirit of freedom for a spirit of slavery, He went far beyond and gave us a spirit of ADOPTION… Amazing!!

Yes! I was thinking about her message reading the Romans passage as well. :-)

  8. TGBTG says:

Romans 8:12 Therefore, brothers and sisters, we have an obligation—but it is not to the flesh, to live according to it. 13 For if you live according to the flesh, you will die; but if by the Spirit you put to death the misdeeds of the body, you will live. 14 For those who are led by the Spirit of God are the children of God.
Dear Father, please provide what I need to stay focused on You and doing Your work.
