  1. JoAnn Foley-DeFiore says:

    10I will turn your feasts into mourning
    and all your songs into lamentation;
    I will bring sackcloth on every waist
    and baldness on every head;
    I will make it like the mourning for an only son
    and the end of it like a bitter day.

    9“And on that day,” declares the Lord God,
    “I will make the sun go down at noon
    and darken the earth in broad daylight.”
    A prophecy about Jesus !!!

  2. E Hong says:

    25Thanks be to God through Jesus Christ our Lord! So then, I myself serve the law of God with my mind, but with my flesh I serve the law of sin.

  3. Danni B says:

    Amos 5:21-24 “I can’t stand your religious meetings.
    I’m fed up with your conferences and conventions.
    I want nothing to do with your religion projects,
    your pretentious slogans and goals.
    I’m sick of your fund-raising schemes,
    your public relations and image making.
    I’ve had all I can take of your noisy ego-music.
    When was the last time you sang to me?
    Do you know what I want?
    I want justice — oceans of it.
    I want fairness — rivers of it.
    That’s what I want. That’s all I want.”

    It is terrifying to read this passage. “Going through the motions” is not freedom. It’s another kind of slavery. Subtle and dangerous. We run around with our heads cut off, looking to ease God. But what He wants is for us to step up to the call to pursue a life of holiness. That’s a place of rest. It’s hard work, but without any burden. It’s joyful and fulfilling on every side!!

    1. Amanda H says:

      This is good! we are afflicted in every way, but not crushed; perplexed, but not despairing;
      2 Corinthians 4:8
      We must count the cost, take up our cross and die to self DAILY, As Paul says

  4. Joanne says:

    Our times are much like those of the judges or the prophets. Everyone seems turned away. I pray the Lord will give an especially bright light to His church and really open our eyes and ears to His Will

  5. Julia C. says:

    Our world is so full of sin that is so accepted anymore. It is hard to sometimes even know what the right think is. I am praying for discernment constantly!

    1. Amanda H says:

      You are a light and light is in you! Look to the scriptures, God plainly tells us what separates light from darkness and good from evil. I’ll be praying your discernment as well

  6. Kate says:

    For I have the desire to do what is right but not the ability to carry it out….I am not alone in this. We all cry out to God to release us from the chains

    1. Dana says:

      Amen! This verse struck me as well! Let’s not hide the struggle be we all have sinned and gone astray. It’s our best testimony

    2. Amanda H says:

      The blood of Jesus!! Breaks every chain! Scriptures say we must become like children again. I struggle with this because of my intellect I find myself always wanting to know more instead of resting in the father and allowing the process of sanctification .. I think sometimes we try to run before we walk. But like babies we have to crawl to walk and walk to run. I pray we all become like children in faith

  7. CINDEE says:

    Praise God for His new covenant of grace through Christ Jesus. The penalty of the law is fulfilled through him and I am dead to it and raised in Christ

    1. Amanda H says:

      Gloryyyy!!!!!!!

  8. Kasey says:

    I went to bed last night feeling the overwhelming guilt of sin. What an awesome verse to wake up to. Paul gives me renewed hope in 21-25. Thank you Jesus!
