Jenna to fear the Lord is to have a “healthy respect ” or to revere him. The Lord doesn’t want us to be afraid of him. We can trust him completely because he loves us. But just like a dad, when you’ve done something wrong, you’re a bit afraid to tell him because you love him and don’t want to disappoint him or for him to be disappointed in you. God wants us to always come to him even when we mess up, so he can show us his mercy and grace.

I’ve had this question every time I’ve read about fearing God – why does the bible say to fear the lord and that it’s good? For me fear has a negative connotation i.e. If I fear someone I’m not gonna go to them with my problems or ask for help/guidance or necessarily trust them. Maybe I’m interpreting it wrong?

If anyone has a minute, I would really appreciate your prayers. I have been a SAHM for over 10 years and I need to get a job now bc my husband dropped 5 figures playing video games. My youngest is not yet two (3 precious kids) and it breaks my heart to leave her. I have a bachelors degree and am trying to get a job as a cashier. Pray for me to be loving and not bitter, that I will get the job and be excellent at it, that I will walk in truth and love, being forgiving as I have been forgiven, that I will trust God and cling to Him when times are tough and not despair at the mountain before me. Thanks ladies!

Praying! I am praying for you, your husband, and your child. I know how hard it is to leave your little ones to work. I am so sorry that you are paying a penalty for a situation you didn’t cause. That has to be so frustrating to you. I pray that you will win the battle against bitterness and that you are blessed. ❤️
