    I loooove this

  2. Alise says:

2 Kings 19:25 “Have you not heard
that I determined it long ago?
I planned from days of old
what now I bring to pass,
that you should turn fortified cities
    into heaps of ruins,”

Oh God’s sovereignty and forknowledge are so sweet to me!! The battle is ALREADY won! And I get a share in the spoils by virtue of God’s magnificent mercy and grace! (and definitely not of my own works…) Thanks be to God, who sees and hears all and is not surprised!

  3. Emily S says:

    Amen!

I love this verse, because it reminds us that each day is not just a walk with Christ, it’s actually a war. We must put on each of these types of armor to protect us against Satan’s constant attacks, and prepare us to stand firm in every moment.

I know this is long, but I was thinking about what each piece of armor means:

Your belt of TRUTH–to remember always the truth God and his promises to us, that we will always catch and thwart Satan’s whispering lies.

The breastplate of RIGHTEOUSNESS–or as I’ve heard it, “right-with-God-ness”, that guards and protects your heart.

On your feet, the gospel of PEACE–
not entering a moment without remembering that we are guaranteed to join Christ after this life, so that we don’t get worked up over earthly matters that do not have an eternal impact.

Shield of FAITH–that when Satan is shooting flaming arrows at you, and all hope seems gone, you hold onto that tiny bit of faith that says, “Trust God, and follow him.”

Helmet of SALVATION–another reminder that God has guaranteed us life, to guard against the thoughts Satan creeps into our minds.

Sword of the SPIRIT–our only offensive weapon, which is God’s word; that is why reading through the whole Bible has become so important for me.

All of this Paul asks us to put on with all prayer and supplecation, so take some time with me to pray today, as I ask the Lord to help us put our on full armor!

    1. Leah Swindon says:

That was awesome Emily…joining you and our sisters in prayer!

    2. Kelly says:

This is amazing the explanation for each of the armor! It really gets me thinking about which pieces of armor am I putting on everyday and what I need to work on to allow the full armor of God to dwell with me throughout everyday. Thank you so much for sharing this!

  4. Katrina P says:

And a good reminder to honor our bodies comes from 2 Kings 29 “And this shall be the sign for you: this year eat what grows of itself, and in the second year what springs of the same. Then in the third year sow and reap and plant vineyards, and eat their fruit.

It got me thinking about how we don’t honor the seasons and that from which we eat also.

  5. Katrina P says:

So much strife our people went through to show others that our God is the only God: 2 Kings 19 So now, O Lord our God, save us, please, from his hand, that all the kingdoms of the earth may know that you, O Lord, are God alone.”

  6. Amber says:

19 ‘Now, O Lord our God, I pray, deliver us from his hand that all the kingdoms of the earth may know that You alone, O Lord, are God.”

May this be our prayer for Christians all over the world who are facing persecution at the hands of extremist groups.

  7. Alexis says:

Hmmm…. I think I may need to update my wardrobe and get busier doing My Father’s work.

    1. Jamie Chapman says:

      Like this!

  8. Alexis says:

13 Therefore put on the full armor of God, so that when the day of evil comes, you may be able to stand your ground, and after you have done everything, to stand. 14 Stand firm then, with the belt of truth buckled around your waist, with the breastplate of righteousness in place, 15 and with your feet fitted with the readiness that comes from the gospel of peace.
