  1. Rachel says:

“6 The point is this: whoever sows sparingly will also reap sparingly, and whoever sows bountifully will also reap bountifully.” I needed to hear this today. I have been sowing some seeds sparingly out of fear and uncertainty, but I need to remember that “God loves a cheerful giver” and just dive in sometimes in using my gifts!

  2. KK says:

I’m preparing to go in a missions trip this summer and 2 Corinthians 9:12 stuck out to me: 12 “For the ministry of this service is not only supplying the needs of the saints but is also overflowing in many thanksgivings to God.” I need to remember that the time and effort spent on missions trips are for serving, but they are also about connecting and rejoicing with fellow believers in Christ.

  3. Lauren says:

Reading the 2 Corinthians passage today, in addition to the Proverbs readings, has been been so convicting to me. How am I spending my money, time and talents? Am I being a generous and cheerful giver, trusting in God, or am I holding back and only trusting in myself? I pray that the Lord will change my heart into one that trusts in him completely and gives generously and cheerfully!

I searched for a commentary on this passage of Samuel being called back. It was very helpful. It gave me lots of insight to how satan’s deceitfulness works through mediums. Still going on today! I would suggest that anyone who needs clarification do the same. It was very revealing :)

  5. Savannah says:

I’m very confused by the passage about Samuel’s…. Ghost I guess it is? Was it really his ghost? Could his sprit be called back, especially by a human? How does this all work?

    1. rachel says:

there is a lot of reading on this online and in commentaries, but the general idea I get is that it’s not Samuel at all but an evil spirit impersonating Samuel.

    2. Beatrice says:

I had always thought that God had allowed, just this once, for the women to actual speak with a “ghost” as he wanted to remind Saul of the fact that he had lost favor. But demons/evil spirits can still speak the truth so it would also be possible for it to have been one of those.

    3. AmyCri says:

This weirds me out too. I need to read more on the topic for clarity.

  6. Kaily says:

I’m really loving the story of Saul and David. It’s captivating!

    1. Angelyn says:

      Yes! It’s like a novel I can’t put down!

  7. Yana says:

15 Thanks be to God for his indescribable gift!

Each day, each blessing, each possession, each success. All glory is His. To God be all thanks.

  8. Katelinl says:

6 The point is this: whoever sows sparingly will also reap sparingly, and whoever sows bountifully will also reap bountifully.

Am I sowing bountifully believing that God’s grace will see me through the good work He has for me?

    1. Debbie says:

I think this passage is talking about actual giving and then being blessed by God for doing so.

      1. Yes your correct Debbie! It’s very important to read in context :)
