  1. May Alcorn says:

…, to love the Lord your God, and to walk in all his ways and to keep his commandments and to cling to him and to serve him with all your heart and with all your soul.” Love that this is so consistent from OT to NT!
I need to look up what the judging angels by elect? possibly is about?!

  2. E Hong says:

3And you have seen all that the Lord your God has done to all these nations for your sake, for it is the Lord your God who has fought for you. -ellie

One verse that struck my heart was in 1 corinthians 6:1 “when one of you has a dispute with another believer, how dare you file a lawsuit and ask a secular court to decide the matter instead of taking it to other believers?”
So many times I have fallen short of this trying to seek wisdom during adversity from those who are apart of the secular court, turning to any ear close by for reassurance that my actions and words are right. When the Bible so clearly advises us to seek counsel from the wise for the opinions of the wicked are of no value. I will keep this verse in the forefront of my mind when adversity rises so that I am more intentional with whom I seek counsel and how I speak.
I also loved reading 1 Corinthians 6:11 such a sweet and gentle reminder that as I walk this journey born again through Christ my old sins are no longer being used to define me, for God paid a high price for me.

Thanks so much for your comment here!

“‘Everything is permissible for me,’ but not everything is helpful. ‘Everything is permissible for me,’ but I will not be brought under the control of anything” (1 Cor 6:12). This has been such a struggle for me. I am overweight and unhealthy. It limits my ability to do things. I know that this doesn’t please God, but I’ve given in to my desires so many times that my willpower is just shot. I need to evaluate food, sleep, activity in this light: “Is it helpful? Is it addictive or controlling?” If either is a yes, I should not partake. My body is the temple of God.

  5. Sharon Ide says:

May we cling to the Lord for we have been washed and justified and sanctified by the Spirit.

  6. Megan Lowe says:

1 Corinthians 6:11, “And such were some of you. But you were washed, you were sanctified, you were justified in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ and by the Spirit of our God.”

  7. Keziah Canguilan says:

Understanding that I am bought with a high price through the blood of Jesus Christ makes all the difference in my personal lifestyle. It doesn’t only touch the sexual area of our lives but also how we treat our physical body. Do we things that would keep our bodies healthy? Do we sleep early so our bodies can function well the next day as we do the tasks the Lord has given us? Do we glorify the Lord in the way we dress up ourselves? The world tells us to show this and show that because it’s your body anyway. But the thing is, as clearly stated, that we do not own our bodies. We do not belong to ourselves. We belong to God. He bought us; thus, act and project yourself accordingly to His will, knowing that our bodies are a temple of the Holy Spirit ♥️

I know the discussion started a year ago. I’m a nurse and meet many people in gay partnership. The way I’ve handled this is to think to my self that caring for someone is not a sin. Having sex with someone is – if they aren’t our spouse of an opposite sec. I just remind myself that living together is not the problem. And I have no idea whether they really have sex or not. Just like any other couple. That is between them and God.

    1. AnnieB says:

Ugh! I can’t erase this? I didn’t mean to post it. Sometimes I write my thoughts then erase them. But I accidentally hit post while typing!! But now I guess I’ll have to finish. Being effeminate or masculine by birth is not a sin. It’s just that sex part. Every sexual act is a decision. Homosexual or heterosexual. Isn’t it? We all have decisions to make. We have all had opportunity for sexual sin. I must love everyone with the love of Christ and keep pointing myself and others to a right, choice -transforming life of following Him. That’s my only duty. Love.snd point the Way. He transforms us. Characteristics are not a sin.

      1. Kimberly says:

I agree. It is like comparing temptation to the actual commitment of the sin. It is one thing to be tempted, but to act on/follow through with the temptation with action is sin.

      2. Kaitlyn says:

I know I’m a little late to this, but I completely agree with you. I think you’re approaching it the right way and that’s also the way I interpret it. Too often I feel like homosexuals are told they are living in sin but no one actually reaches out to them to try to help them.
