Interesting to read of two men who knew the God intimately: Moses and Peter. Both were brazen before Him and both ultimately failed Him despite seeing so much of God’s power up close. And both were forgiven and given much grace by our Lord because of their faith in Him.

30% wow! God is good to us to give us His Word, our daily bread.

I was really struck with the end of Deuteronomy saying there has never been another prophet who showed signs and wonders and who saw God face to face. The story of Moses dying at age 120. Then our reading going straight into the Garden of Gethsamane. Here HE was. The ONE who was greater. About to face his violent death at only age 33. Moses couldn’t go into the promised land because of sin. If Moses couldn’t go- how could anybody? But Jesus was about to pay the penalty even for Moses. Wow! I’m so glad this plan pairs the Old Testament readings with New!!

      Great points!

  8. Antimony says:

Judas kissed Jesus as a friend would greet Him … and in that act betrayed Him. His kindness and love were false

I find it interesting that Judas felt the need to point Jesus out. He was famous! Just a few verses later Jesus even says that they had seen him in the synagogue. Why did they need someone to show them who to capture?
