Day 6

Grace Day

from the Give Thanks reading plan

Psalm 100:1-3

BY She Reads Truth

Use this day to pray, rest, and reflect on this week’s reading, giving thanks for the grace that is ours in Christ.

Let the whole earth shout triumphantly to God!
Serve the LORD with gladness;
come before him with joyful songs.
Acknowledge that the LORD is God.
He made us, and we are his—
his people, the sheep of his pasture.
Psalm 100:1–3

Because we are His, we can joyfully praise, gladly serve, and are welcome to come into His presence. How can we not want to praise Him?

I love Grace Day’s! We’ve had a good week for planting seeds of thankfulness in our family! If we can acknowledge who He is it also helps us understand and put into proper perspective who we are and our value to Him. Another great reason to gather together and be consistently thankful is because it’s helpful to look out for the interests of others which is Philippians 2:4, without community we can’t fully care for others and allow others to partake in one another’s interests, not through gossip, but speaking life into the hurting, genuinely caring for the widows and orphans. It also takes the focus off our selves and our situations and places our burdens in God’s hands. Also gather to share stories of thankfulness of what God has done in each of our lives and lift our praises in one accord for all he’s already done. A well planted seed of thankfulness is an ever growing shoot of joy.

Sometimes we need reminders of the why. Why do we sing praises, why do we gather together? One reason is to give thanks!

We’ve been reminded of so many reasons for which to give thanks to God today. May He help our minds to focus on His goodness and reflect thoughtful that the Lord may receive worship hearts.

I am loving this study and the great lessons on giving thanks. We have been in a rather difficult season this year of caring for and managing the care of elderly parents. There are many challenges as some of you know. We have worked to see God in it and there have been many provisions from Him of wisdom and strength for the days. Yet on some days we are weary from it. The readings have reinforced and challenged me to have a posture of thanksgiving each day. Giving thanks today for God’s grace to us this year.

What a beautiful offering to the Lord.. such purposeful kingdom work in caring for your parents. It’s mundane and hard, but thank you for preserving!!

  8. Cayla Kline says:

“His steadfast love endures forever” I keep seeing steadfast over and over in this study. I’m so grateful for this quality of God. No matter what, He is firmly fixed. He is the great I Am and there is so much peace in knowing this and being reminded of this. I am so thankful for the SRT women who make these studies and make it possible to easily read scripture from the app. And also who make the beautiful study books. Thank you for being steadfast in your faith and your mission to make Jesus known!
