Day 13

Grace Day

from the This Is the Gospel reading plan

Colossians 1:19-20

BY She Reads Truth

Use today to pray, rest, and reflect on this week’s reading, giving thanks for the grace that is ours in Christ.

For God was pleased to have
all his fullness dwell in him,
and through him to reconcile
everything to himself,
whether things on earth or things in heaven,
by making peace
through his blood, shed on the cross.

Colossians 1:19–20

In a world where some people see Jesus just as a good man, or just as a prophet, or just as a religious rebel, this Scripture gives us confident assurance that Jesus is who He claims to be—God’s only begotten Son, fully God and fully man. Only God could provide the atonement for our sin, and only the God-Man could be the atonement with His blood shed on the cross. And in a world where people search in vain for peace everywhere else, we see here that peace is found in trusting Jesus. Thanks be to God; all glory and honor to Him forever!

Understanding God and His heart is looking at Jesus. I read, study and learn more about Jesus, praying that He becomes greater in me and I become less.

If you swipe on the day where it lists all days, it will save. The tap function within each day hasn’t been working for some reason.

  8. Churchmouse says:

Want to know what God looks like? Look at Jesus – the fullness of God is in Him. Want to know His mission? It is reconciliation of all things to Himself. How does He accomplish this? Through Jesus ‘ blood, shed on the cross. What do we get? Peace. Why does He do this? It is His pleasure to do so. (there’s an awful lot packed into the two verses of today’s Scripture, yes?)

    1. Elaine Morgan says:

      Yes and amen!

    2. Kelly Chataine says:

Yes! Exactly! There sure is a lot in these two verses.

    3. Kay says:

Yes! Isn’t is wonderful how God’s Word is like that?!

    4. Dorothy says:

WOW!!! (there are the exclamation marks ; )) Yes there is and I love the way you explain it. Thank you Lord. Amen
