Day 20

Grace Day

Hebrews 8:10

BY She Reads Truth

Use today to pray, rest, and reflect on this week’s reading, giving thanks for the grace that is ours in Christ.

For this is the covenant
that I will make with the house of Israel
after those days, says the Lord:
I will put my laws into their minds
and write them on their hearts.
I will be their God,
and they will be my people.
—Hebrews 8:10

In need of grace and prayer to understand God’s plan for my relationship, how to go forward in faith and not fear. God led me to this person and we have been together for a year and a half. I love him very much but he has explosive anger and gets verbally abusive. I know this is the person God made for me he has made it so abundantly clear and yet at times I feel this is going to be a hard road if I continue. Please pray for me!

Hi Haylee. I’m a bit late so you might not get this but I’m praying for you and your relationship. I simply cannot believe God would want you to be in an abusive relationship. I’m praying that the transforming Spirit of God will bring peace, gentleness and self control to your other half. And I’m praying that you can find some good friends nearby who are safe and will advise and look after you as you navigate this tricky situation. Much love. xxx

Hey there, I wanted to put out this prayer that’s on my heart. I have a friend who’s in a toxic work environment and also recently unjustly dumped from her second job when the management changed hands. I want to pray that she can find a better job & environment that doesn’t require having two jobs or toxic management. She is so sweet, hardworking & a follower of Christ. Thank you & peace be with you.

Hello, I am coming in a bit late, but I just had my baby boy and am working to get caught up! I will be working to catch up over the weekend and throughout next week. Please pray for me as I work to get caught up and allow God to open my heart and mind through this study. I am looking forward to studying with all of you and will be praying for each of you!

    1. Denise Powers Fabian says:

Melissa – We all get behind or fall back at some point because we are human. Congratulations on your new baby boy and know the God of grace understands. He is pleased by your desire to spend time in God’s word.

SRT ladies… I’ve never posted on here before, but I am desperate for prayer. Pray for my wandering heart and all of the doubt I’ve been experiencing about my faith in Christ lately. God uses these experiences and feelings to draw us closer to him… however the fear of the unknown (esp. in death) right now has really got me down. I’ve given up social media and Netflix for lent, just because I needed to spend more time with God and experience him more. But it’s not the instantaneous “jump back in” I was hoping for….please pray that God will draw me back close to Him again and that my roots will grow deeper as now I am seeing how superficial they really were.

    1. Churchmouse says:

Father God, when your children cry out, You hear. Kelly is crying out to know You in a deeper way. Lord, draw her closer to You through the ministry of worship music, through Your Word, through sermons, through the fellowship with other believers and through the majesty of Your creation. Let her see You everywhere in very personal ways. Open her heart to receive and submit to the Truth of Who You are – her good good Father who loves her no matter what. Hold her close, Lord. Let her release her doubts. Let her accept that with You there is some mystery. Let her find the joy in following You Who knows her best and loves her most. Amen.

    2. Cathy Smouse says:

Kelly, the Bible says that in our relationship with Him, He is the initiator. He tells the story of His pursuit of us in the Bible, from Genesis to Revelation. In Song of Songs 4:9, the king says to bride, “You have made my heart beat faster, my sister, my bride; you have made my heart beat faster with a single glance of your eyes,”. This is King Jesus speaking to us! If you’ve ever been in love, you may remember the excitement you felt just seeing the one you loved. That is the effect you have on the Lord when you direct your attention – even just a glance – to Him.
Remember there is nothing you can do to make Him love you more, and nothing you do will ever make Him love you less. And remember, too, that God is not ashamed of you. As you spend time with Him, remember that He has drawn you to this place of wanting more of Him. God is not mad at you. God is mad about you.

I had what I’ll call a “crisis of faith” in 2010 after my grandparents died. The devil was just really putting thoughts and giving me anxiety around rather I was really saved and it sounds similar to you bc so much of it was a fear about not going to heaven, these thoughts of was I really saved. It was not a pleasant time for me, but I am thankful to say I made it to the other side of it! I just continued to pray, attend church, do studies, etc. and finally that stronghold was broken. Will pray for you! Wanted to share a little bit of my experience so you know you’re not alone!!

      1. nursedodie says:

Megan I had three similar “crises of faith” the and probably the most difficult one was when my 18 year old son died I couldn’t understand why he had been taken from our family so early in life. He was set on becoming a minister. My second time was when my mother died very tragically in an automobile accident she lived long enough for me to get to the hospital. My mom was the sweetest, most caring, most loving, most giving woman around sometimes too much. The last time was when my dad died in June of last year. He would do anything for any family member and he allowed my sons and I to live with them for 11 years and became more of a father to my sons. each time I struggled with my faith and with God’s wishes I also would ask Him why He would not answer right away but He would answer.

    4. Sabrina Michelle says:

Father God in the name of Jesus,
Lord thank you for this community of believers and for Kelly V. On tonight Father please renew her heart and mind. Send your angels to comfort her and build up her faith in you. Whatever the situation is Father we know you have already went ahead to straighten things out. Give her the strength to endure whatever she may be facing Lord, help her to rest in the finished works of Jesus. Amen.

Thank you Kelly for your transparency with us, I love you and God loves you so much more.
