Day 7

Weekly Truth

from the John reading plan

John 1:1-2

BY She Reads Truth

Memorizing Scripture is one of the best ways to carry God-breathed truth, instruction, and reproof wherever we go.

Over the four weeks of this study, we will memorize the first five verses in John’s Gospel, pivotal words on the person and calling of Christ. This week we’ll get a head start and memorize verses 1-2.

In the beginning was the Word,
and the Word was with God,
and the Word was God.
He was with God in the beginning.
—John 1:1-2

Write this passage down and post it on your mirror or at your desk, in your car or on the fridge—anywhere you’ll see it often. Save the image below as your phone’s lock screen so you can read these words of truth throughout the day.

We want to be a community that is intentional about Scripture memorization. Will you join us?

I will be collecting this scripture and using this pic as a screen saver! I just recently downloaded a bible memorization app from the playstore on Android since starting this study on John. It’s called Remember Me. It’s the pink icon with a cross on it if you want the one I have. I just wanted to share that I’ve started collecting small and important scriptures, and will add this one, since I’ve never really taken the time to memorize scripture…only the ones my mother taught me as a young child and the ones I’ve learned over the years as an adult, but nothing more than those have stuck with me unless some forgotten ones were completely recalled by The Holy Spirit to my mind.
