  1. Temi Manning says:

Praise God for his sacrifice, Jesus Christ, his own son. So powerful reading these side by side. Without the Old Testament, we wouldn’t know how much it cost for Jesus to die on the cross for us.

It really is a powerful contrast! Powerful

So true! I’m glad SRT created the study this way, with Old and New Testament readings side by side. :)

  2. Lulu says:

It’s been powerful to read these two books side by side, showing our great need for a Savior, what we deserve, and what we get instead through Jesus.

    1. Bella Mokeba says:

So true!!! We totally deserve his wrath upon us! But Jesus drank that cup. He faithfully followed in the footsteps of his father. He submitted to his will and took on the cross. Took on our sin. Took on the wrath that was due us. What a savior!!!!!

It dawned on me today that since July we have read much of the same event from various OT authors with different perspectives. In Chronicles & then both the major & minor prophets, all of these books speak to Israel and Judah’s waywardness and Gods judgement – the Assyrian and Babylonian captivity. No wonder it seems there is so much violence and bloodshed. Thank goodness some Psalms and Proverbs and NT passages have also been included in our reading plan so we see again and again Gods desire for Righteousness to reign and godly relationships to rule. Thank God for His provision and grace in sending His son Jesus!

    1. AnnieB says:

      Amen ❤️

  4. TGBTG says:

Katrina, thank you for sharing your favorite verse everyday. Katrina is my daughter’s name too. :-)

  5. Katrina says:

    17 Then he adds:
    “Their sins and lawless acts
    I will remember no more.”

18 And where these have been forgiven, sacrifice for sin is no longer necessary.

  6. Laura says:

14 For by one sacrifice he has made perfect forever those who are being made holy.

    17 Then he adds:
    “Their sins and lawless acts
    I will remember no more.”

How good and merciful our Faithful Father is!!

  7. Betty says:

Amen..What a sacrifice He made for those who put their trust in Him.

  8. MarmeeCotton says:

    Hebrews 10:12 But this man, after he had offered one sacrifice for sins for ever, sat down on the right hand of God;
    Jesus paid it all!
