Jeremiah 50, 1 Peter 4
14 If you are insulted for the name of Christ, you are blessed, because the Spirit of glory and of God rests upon you.
Earlier today, my son asked me why a Christian music isn’t as popular as mainstream music. This is a timely scripture I will use to explain to my son why we must stand for Christ when it’s not popular to do so and even if we suffer persecution due to our convictions.
I think sometimes we think as Christians that our life is perfect and we aren’t going to face the challenges of this world but as it says in 1 Peter, even Jesus faced trials but his devotion to God never faltered. I’ve been working to see that when God does place a mountain in my way, I’ve just got to trust him to help me climb it because he’s working in me to make me see things his way and to help me become the person he wants me to be
19 “Therefore let those who suffer according to God’s will entrust their souls to a faithful Creator while doing good.” When I suffer, I’m tempted to focus on how I can make myself feel better (control, pity, withdrawal). However, when I practice this verse, God relieves me of the burden of me. For me, practicing this verse means that I submit my situation to God, trusting that He is in control. I also trust that He is good and has been faithful to provide me with His good in the past. And I have to focus outside of me to see how God might be using my suffering for His glory.
I pray that we will create a welcoming home, a place where both friends and strangers can find refuge and restoration. Hospitality is key!
8 Above all, keep loving one another earnestly, since love covers a multitude of sins. 9 Show hospitality to one another without grumbling.
Thanks ladies!!! :)
