Jeremiah 1-2, Romans 15:1-13
Trying to conceive for over a year and a half reading this makes me hopeful
God told Jeremiah he had made him a defended city, and an iron pillar, and brazen walls. Jeremiah was not to fear the people but to speak the truth of God. God would be his defender. We know Jeremiah went through some very difficult experiences. Even so God was faithful in preserving Jeremiah.
The New Testament tells us the gates of Hell will not prevail against the Church.
It is my prayer that I will speak of the power and grace of our Lord boldly never fearing the enemy. Romans 15:13 is beautifully encouraging and sheds light on our desire to speak the truth to our needy world.
This is my first day with this app. One of my favorite verses , “Before you were born…” was in the reading today. Since becoming a mother, it has meant so much more! Excited to share in God’s word!
I just started the app yesterday too—and also teared up a bit that the reading was the opening to Jeremiah… God’s used these chapters to convict me to stop complaining and reach out to others toooo many times! Glad to be reading with you, sister. ❤️
I love the NLT version of Romans 15:13. Memorizing it!
13 I pray that God, the source of hope, will fill you completely with joy and peace because you trust in him. Then you will overflow with confident hope through the power of the Holy Spirit.
Reading Jeremiah and Romans 15 today was a reminder that God already has a plan. Our goal is to listen to Him and be lead by His direction to do what our purpose in life is! It may not “make sense” to us – but we each have gifts we may not have even known we were made to use! My prayer is that He continues to speak to myself and to you – so that we each LIVE THE LIFE we’ve been meant to live!
I love this prayer at the end of the passage in Romans: “May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, so that by the power of the Holy Spirit you may abound in hope.”
I love that verse also!
Love that prayer!
Me too! I sent it to my son and my husband! ❤️
I am a mother of young children and find my alone time with God early in the morning. This morning my youngest woke and I had to rock him while reading my daily passage. God is amazing and Jeremiah 1:5 has been repeatedly spoken over my son. “Before you were born, I knew you…; I appointed you a prophet to the nations.” God has great things planned for my son and I cannot wait to see how he carries them out!
I highlighted this same verse today, Christina! It is amazing to know God’s perfect plan for us and what he’s appointed us to do!
Thank u for sharing this! It is so sweet!! I cannot wait to be a momma someday! God bless!
