2 Chronicles 32-33, Luke 19:1-27
Is it not crazy how Hezekiah did what was right in the eyes of the Lord and he was prosperous but when his son reigned over him he did what was evil and we wonder why he would have created another god for himself when he had seen what the Lord had done for his father? I think this is how crazy we also are, sometimes we let little things get in our ways that we give less time to the Lord but more to the other things thus making them our little gods. I so much pray for our hearts not to forget what the Lord has done for us.
I loved this passage and how loving our Father is. I loved seeing the words, “humbled himself.” I need to put this into practice with our Lord!
I have always loved the story of zacchaeus! A fellow shortie!
I love that passage about Manasseh and seeing the forgiving, long suffering nature of God who is willing to take us back no matter how awful we have sinned. How what He really wanted was Manasseh’s heart and when he was humble enough to offer it up God cleared the path for that to happen again. What an amazing God we serve!
As I read the comments above about the chapter in Luke I see everyone commenting on using our money wisely but it’s deeper than that …look what we have been given! Salvation through Jesus! The Kingdom! Let’s not be stingy and keep that to ourselves but share it with the world! That’s just my interpretation of this reading.
And by sharing we multiply what our Lord has given us
God has given us so much but we are so self absorbed and self surrounded that we could never possibly know all of that! he really is amazing.
Luke 19:10 “For the Son of Man came to seek and to save the lost.” Zaccheus was lost. He was trying to get to Jesus … but instead Jesus came to him. Jesus sought him out and received him. Zaccheus couldn’t physically get to Jesus. Something held him back. He needed Jesus to step into his life and rescue him.
I have a newfound love for the book of hezekiah. These verses are powerful and what I gathered from this and the words hezekiah spoke to his people was that if God is for us, who can be against us. We are constantly reminded this in the bible yet we always seem to forget and let ourselves become discouraged . When I’m worried about getting a job or internship remembering this I can be comforted by knowing I have the favor of God on my side. He is greater than any skill or credentials someone else has. God can qualify me and put me into positions I need to be in. He can and will promote me as long as I have faith , persistence in prayer and courage . Amen
