  1. Tiffani says:

Amen and it reminds us All we Need is Him and Him Alone!!

  2. Kylee says:

“If your eye causes you to sin, tear it out” — WOW that hurts but in the best of ways! God doesn’t care how integral a part of us something is, if it causes us to sin He says PITCH IT. Don’t need it. Can’t live with it. I love that startling reminder to keep our lives/actions/heart centered on HIM ALONE!

  3. Yamiris says:

As I am going through this difficult situation, I MUST remember that God is for me and not against me. I have to give all of my heart and sou and he will lead me to victory! ❤️

  4. Chelsea says:

Circumcise therefore the foreskin of your heart, and be no longer stubborn.’
I love that after all these laws regarding every detail of the Israelites’ outward separation from the world, God reminds them that he’s always, ALWAYS after their hearts first!
He always desired their true love and devotion, not just an outward demonstration.

  5. Jenna says:

12:4 ‘You shall not act like this toward the Lord your God. 5 ‘But you shall seek the Lord at the place which the Lord your God will choose…
12:30 beware that you are not ensnared to follow them, after they are destroyed before you, and that you do not inquire after their gods, saying, ‘How do these nations serve their gods, that I also may do likewise?’ 31 ‘You shall not behave thus toward the Lord your God

Reading the OT testament can be difficult at times because I find it can be hard to relate it to today, but the message I got from these verses was that there’s going to be times in life where it will be easy to stray from God and his word – we will find times when we’re surrounded by others who have conformed to this world and aren’t walking with God & the fruits of the spirit. Moses is reminding the Israelites that they shouldn’t follow the people of the land God is leading them to, just like we shouldn’t conform and be like those who have more worldly views and live a life apart from God. In today’s world, I feel like it’s easy to get sidetracked in our faith, especially in times of struggle, but deut 11:13 says that if we follow the word of God and obey his commandments, if we love him and live to serve him with our hearts and souls, He will always provide and let us prosper. By loving and obeying God and living for him, it will much harder to let outside influences diminish the faith and love we have for Him.

    1. Kylee says:

Amen. I needed to read this today after last week’s business of life left me conforming to the patterns of behavior of everyone around me, most of my actions emulating the people in my life who don’t worship God. Yucky. I need to remember we are called + set apart, not worshipping other gods but living, breathing, walking, talking, only for the One TRUE God.

    2. Tiffani says:

Amen!! And today is so easy to find ourselves getting sidetracked and influenced by the world we must focus our eyes on Him to make it!

  6. JJ Smith says:

4Don’t worship the Lord your God this way. 5Instead, you must turn to the place Yahweh your God chooses from all your tribes to put His name for His dwelling and go there.

What stood out to me from this section was all the verses talking about how God has a set way for us to worship Him and not to worship Him like everyone else does their own gods. We have a holy God and we are to be set apart in what we do and not look like everyone else. And it shows that you can’t come to God however you want – you have to come to Him the way that He allows for and determines.

  7. Nadine says:

19 Love ye therefore the stranger: for ye were strangers in the land of Egypt.
20 Thou shalt fear the LORD thy God; him shalt thou serve, and to him shalt thou cleave, and swear by his name.
21 He is thy praise, and he is thy God, that hath done for thee these great and terrible things, which thine eyes have seen.
22 Thy fathers went down into Egypt with threescore and ten persons; and now the LORD thy God hath made thee as the stars of heaven for multitude.

God can take the least of us and make us numerous. Only if we are faithful and believe in the works that He can do for us. We are not a part of this world, but we do live in it and we have to care for others even if they don’t care for us. God loves us even when we didn’t love Him or ourselves. Blessings and Honor to the most high God.
