1 & 2 Corinthians: Day 41

Grace Day

by

Today's Text: Hosea 10:12

Use this day to pray, rest, and reflect on this week’s reading, giving thanks for the grace that is ours in Christ.

Sow righteousness for yourselves
and reap faithful love;
break up your unplowed ground.
It is time to seek the LORD
until he comes and sends righteousness
on you like the rain.
—Hosea 10:12

    “Break up my unplowed ground.”
Preparation to receive the farmer’s seed.
Self – examination, confession and repentance prepared my heart to fully receive all that my farmer Father gives.
When I seek Him in openness and submission, He does indeed come like rain. For that which He gives so abundantly, is Himself.
Pour out, Lord. Pour all of You.
I thirst for You. I am dry ground.

  • “Break up your unplowed ground” – working on some tightly packed dirt clods in my life that have been left unplowed for too long. I love this analogy as I till up the hard places in my heart.

I really like this Bible verse. As I sit here and type and read over this Bible verse I can hear rumbles of thunder. I woke up to storms passing through my area. The sounds of thunder, lightning, and rain pouring down. Isn’t it amazing at God’s timing. God is always on time. He is never early or late. He is faithful when I am not. I read over today’s verse and wonder what “unplowed ground” in my life there is. Am I giving God every area of my life or am I holding back? Do I trust Him completely or say to myself I got this? Please Lord, help me to always be submissive and obedient unto You. Never afraid. Open to His leading and direction.

This really resonated with me when we haven’t had rain here for a while. How long has my soul been without rain?
