1 & 2 Corinthians: Day 21

Weekly Truth

by

Today's Text: 1 Corinthians 12:4

Scripture is God-breathed and true. When we memorize it, we carry the gospel with us wherever we go.

This week’s verse describes the unity we have in the Spirit.

Now there are different gifts, but the same Spirit.
—1 Corinthians 12:4

    Unity in the spirit

Never mind; it just showed up. Slow computer, I guess.

Where is the lock screen image? It says, “Save the image below as a lock screen for your phone so you can read these words throughout the day,” but all that appears below that is the comments section.

  • Sorry didn’t get to finish I just love how you use the keywords to make the point. And agree we are all different. And God can still us.

This is what the world needs to here. Right now. That we embrace those who are different, because they are different. They need to not come to a conclusion that we judge! We know who the Judge is, and we live for Him.

  • Don’t understand why some gifts are not being used. Paul told us in the readings this week how important prophecy is. I am not seeing it. Maybe I am just in the wrong place. Has anyone heard the gift of prophecy in say the last month? Or year?

  • J. Alison

Indeed! What a perfect choice to memorize.

Thank you! No comparing. All for Him.

Needed this sweet reminder as I’m praying for my husband his morning before he leads our church in worship today. I often feel “less than” or left out because I’m not musically gifted the way that he is. I am reminded in this that the same Spirit dwells in both of us and uses us in different, but equally important, ways.

  • Kelly Chataine

A gift that is a perfect fit for me. Now, I must, we all must go out and use our gifts.

  • Churchmouse

Different gifts. Not better than. Different. Same Spirit. An equal opportunity giver.
I have a gift. You have a gift. Both invaluable to the all of us. Given graciously by One who knows what He’s doing.
Let’s use our gifts. For His glory. We can do this, Church!
